The Mystery

Welcome back to yet another week that was post! This week we have a focus on the mystery that has gripped the world. I am, of course, talking about the mystery that was Malaysian Airlines flight MH370 that went missing. A plane full of over 200 passengers went missing without a trace and nearly a week later no trace has been found. A similar case occurred not too long ago with a French airlines flight which took over two years to find. However, since there has been very little evidence to show what has happened, there is a lot of speculation. Channel 7 did a big 'news' story on the missing flight and, like all the stories so far, it is all speculation. There has been very little facts but a lot of speculation and sometimes it is hard to separate the fact from the fiction.

The most intriguing part that gripped the world with this story is the fact that the plane disappeared without a trace. One moment there was a signal from the plane's GPS and the next minute it was gone without any SOS signal been sent out by the pilot. The black-box is one of the most confusing pieces of lost wreckage as they send out signals for 30 days yet no signal has been found from the black-box on this flight. It is evidence such as this that has lead to many different 'conclusions'. I must stress that this is entirely speculation as there is no clear evidence to suggest what really happened aboard the ill-fated Boeing 777 headed for China. Some say the plane was disintegrated by something so powerful so as to destroy every single part of that plane, including the black-box. This is one theory that, if it were to be true, would shock many aerospace engineers as they would have a new threat to their 'indestructible' black boxes. The reason the plane would have had to have totally disintegrated is that when a plane crashes into the ocean there are parts of that plane that do float so by now there should have been some evidence found. Another theory is that the plane was hijacked and then rerouted somewhere to be used as part of a terrorist scheme. However, as days pass, this possibility also becomes less and less likely as no news is heard or hostage situation announced. Personally, I think that the scariest part of all this is that when relatives tried to call their loved-ones on the plane the phones rang fully out. This means, that those phones were still fully functional. If they had broken (either by water or disintegration) then they would not have rung out. This scares me a lot for some reason which I can not confidently put my finger on. It will most likely prove to be a very crucial piece of information when the truth of that ill-fated flight does, if ever, come out of the mist. From many different television shows (I think I have been watching too much Fringe [there is no such thing as too much Fringe though so maybe I am wrong]) there has also been the explanation that more and more people are going to; that the plane was simply taken into another dimension. The truth is sure to be a lot less confusing than that but when all that is possible is ruled out, all that remains is the impossible (I did not make that up, I think it was from Sherlock). However, since this story holds an interest for people all over the world there is not going to be a lack of searching for a very long time (if ever). With the world constantly watching, I doubt anyone will stop searching until answers have been found. The different responses have also been great to see. You can see these responses on the news. For example, you have the sad Australian relatives and then the angry Chinese. It is great to have so many different emotions on the one thing as it can open up new avenues and possibilities that may have previously been looked over.

The mystery of this flight is sure to go down in history. See you tomorrow!

Welcome Back to the World of the Weird

Welcome back to yet another Weird News Tuesday post. Actually, the first Weird News Tuesday post in a little while due to technological set backs. Hopefully, this segment continues consecutively for a little while longer. Anyway, since it has been a while I guess there are a lot of weird news events that we have been missing. I guess we had better get started then if we want to catch up! The news site I am using this week is called Express and is yet another British news site. I am sorry but apparently the British love weird news. I am only finding these sites through Google Searches you know. Two twins in Newcastle have beaten the odds (400,000 to 1) by having their babies on the same day. Apparently this is newsworthy items so I guess the British have been running a little low on weirdness lately. Hopefully, the Sochi Olympics have raised the bar for them again. They always say that you never forget your wedding day. Well this couple are certainly never going to forget theirs after the Police were called when a drunken food fight involving Pork Pie (something very important to the story for some weird reason). The couple since laughed it off but apparently guests had been drinking since 2pm that afternoon and tensions had been rising before the food-fight broke out. The photo below is headlining the story. I kid you not.

In other news, there have been fears for the welfare of the Loch Ness Monster since she disappeared and no one has seen her. I guess news is slow around Loch Ness these days if this is all they can focus on. I guess it is good in some ways though as it means there must not be something very important going on around them that would distract them from the plight of the Loch Ness Monster. A viral video popped up during the week after a sky-diver dropped his GoPro camera before jumping out of the plane. The video is hilarious as the camera falls in a pig pen where a pig slowly saunters over to try and eat it. It is really good (in terms of viral videos) and you can watch the video by clicking here. As of late, there has been another one of those medical occurrences that no one can explain. Right now, it is a girl who cries tiny stones instead of tears. There is nothing wrong with the twelve year-old girl and if you doubt the story you can watch the video that featured on Yemen's TV Networks by clicking here. The girl is from Yemen if you did not realise so I guess all the weird news does not have to come from Britain (though it sure seems like it sometimes). An owner has been annoyed by his dog who has chewed through an 8,000 pound Aston Martin (over AU$100,000). The sheepish dog, Luce, is pictured below next to the damage caused to the owner's prized possession.

I am a bit busy with school-work at the moment so I am going to have to finish this post here. See you tomorrow!

The Twelfth Doctor

That's right, BBC has announced the actor to be portraying the Twelfth Doctor. Peter Capaldi was announced as the lucky actor during a special live-broadcast (on ABC at 4am in Australia). If you have been living under a rock or, like the majority of people, do not watch (or follow closely) Doctor Who then you probably had no idea that the eleventh doctor, played by Matt Smith, was finishing (I guess you could sort of call it retiring from the role). This left many fans disappointed earlier this year when it was revealed Smith was leaving but also left others hopeful for the future with talks of possibly a female doctor going around. However, after a long interview process Peter Capaldi was the one selected and we all hope he can fill the big shoes left by many of his predecessors. I just can not wait to see the regeneration which I think is either happening in the 50th Anniversary Special (Premiering late November) or in the proceeding episodes. However, it is time to say goodbye to Matt Smith and looks towards the future and towards Peter Capaldi (I keep wanting to call him Nick, I do not know why).

The 55 year-old actor was born in Scotland is also a film director. He has had many roles throughout his career and is best known (perhaps) for his roles as Malcolm Tucker in the BBC comedy series The Thick of It and its follow-up film In the Loop. It would appear that yet another comedian (or at least actor adept at portraying comedy) is to fill the shoes of the Doctor. However, each Doctor is known for different things and it will be interesting to see how this incarnation of the Doctor acts and reacts to the things around him. At high school he was also the lead singer of the punk-rock band called Dreamboys. Just a bit of a fun fact to lighten the paragraph. For more information on Peter Capaldi you can click this link which will take you to the Wikipedia page because if you can not trust Wikipedia, who can you trust? Just so you know, I am joking here. I know that Wikipedia is not one-hundred-percent reliable. I can not wait to see how this Doctor works and look forward to his appearance.

The Doctor is watching you, see you tomorrow!

YouTube Subscriptions Part 4

Wow, it is already Part 4 of this and my YouTube is becoming so much easier to view now as all the videos I can see are the ones I want to be able to. It is so much easier to navigate now and I really think this a good idea to clear up your YouTube and stop wasting time sifting through videos you are never going to watch. I began at the start of Part 1 with 153 Subscriptions and have already cut it back to 112 as of the end of Part 3. I can already tell the difference and can not wait to keep going so let's start! Just remember that every 2 days I post a new part so watch out for them.
