YouTube Subscriptions Part 4

Wow, it is already Part 4 of this and my YouTube is becoming so much easier to view now as all the videos I can see are the ones I want to be able to. It is so much easier to navigate now and I really think this a good idea to clear up your YouTube and stop wasting time sifting through videos you are never going to watch. I began at the start of Part 1 with 153 Subscriptions and have already cut it back to 112 as of the end of Part 3. I can already tell the difference and can not wait to keep going so let's start! Just remember that every 2 days I post a new part so watch out for them.

JckSparrow (no error) is a channel also known as The Hillywood Show which makes music video parodies of movies and television shows among other things. It is a great channel and I love watching their music videos and am not unsubscribing any time soon. Jim Chapman is a British YouTuber who talks about different things in his videos but I prefer to watch his Vlogs and am unsubscribing from this one. Jimmy 2 is an American YouTuber who makes Vlogs but I do not watch this and have no idea why I subscribed, goodbye to you too. Jimmy Smith is just another friend that I am unsubscribing from to save some space, he has no videos. Joey Graceffa Games is the gaming channel of a YouTuber I subscribe to who Vlogs. He is my favourite YouTuber but I never watch his gaming channel so I am saying goodbye to that one too. Joey Graceffa is the Vlogger in question who I subscribe to and watch all his videos. Definitely not unsubscribing from him. Jono Mackay is another friend without uploads I am unsubscribing from to save space (wow, that sounds really mean but I do not mean it). Katy Perry VEVO is just a music channel I am unsubscribing from also.

King Kong is the YouTube channel of the new Musical opening in Melbourne that I am very excited to see. The channel has some great videos and I am definitely not unsubscribing. Lady Gaga VEVO is another one of the music channels I am unsubscribing from. Lamarr Wilson is a Technology YouTuber who makes videos about different technologies in a comedic way and I really enjoy it. I am not unsubscribing. LanguagePerfectLtd is the official YouTube Channel of Language Perfect so of course I am subscribed to that, I am not changing that any time soon. Legally Blonde Oz is the channel for the musical currently performing in Australia. I am going to unsubscribe because I have on idea how I actually managed to subscribe to that channel. LEGO Club TV is the official channel of the LEGO Club which I am going to unsubscribe from as they do not upload very often. Les Miserables Film is the channel for Les Miserables movie which was released at the end of last year and has not uploaded a video since the start of the year so I am unsubscribing. Lhugueny is a channel that makes animated music videos about different films and games. It is very entertaining but I do not watch them anymore so I am going to unsubscribe.

Life Burry is a channel that uploads Vlogs which I enjoy watching as she is a character. I am not unsubscribing from her. Luke is yet another Vlog channel but he does not upload very often and so I am unsubscribing. Luke's Arcade is the gaming channel of this Vlogger but I never watch these videos and am also unsubscribing. Maccasmithden is someone I used to like but not anymore since they haven't uploaded in ages and I have not met her for a long time, goodbye to you too! Machinima is a large channel that caters to a wide variety of needs, mostly entertainment news though, but I am unsubscribing as I do not exactly enjoy watching their videos and there are so many that it clogs up my feed. Mainstaypro is a channel that makes short films on a variety of topics and it really is entertaining but their videos do not appear in my feed very often and I do not watch it a lot and so am going to unsubscribe. Marcus Butler TV is a British YouTuber who makes very entertaining videos on a variety of topics and I am not unsubscribing from him. Maxmoefoe is another Australian YouTuber who makes prank calls and mail videos among other things which I do not enjoy as much and so I am unsubscribing. Maxmoefoe two is his second channel which I am also unsubscribing from. I am now back to 95 subscriptions which is great because I am under the 100 subscriptions mark! Hooray! Remember to check back in 2 days for Part 5!

50 Posts

If you didn't know this is the 50th Post on this blog and so today I just wanted to look back on some of my old posts as well as share some statistics along the way. This blog started on the 24th March 2013 (Sunday) and the first post was an introduction. I never expected my Blog to get this many views already and as I went to get the link for the first post I became the 1500th view. This is pretty cool because I expected I would get pretty low views around the teens if I was lucky and that it would take me 6 months before I could even think about making 1500 views. It only actually took until the 3rd of May when I hit 1000 views. This was just over a month since I started and I couldn't believe it. So today's post is for all my readers and thank you so much for coming back.

When I first started this blog I was lucky to get 10 views a day but now I get an average of 45 (talk about a rise). The highest amount of views I ever got in one day was 74 and that was also the day that I got over the 1000 views mark. The good thing about my views is that I never get below 40 a day anymore which is quite an achievement and which also means that I must get some people who read my blog regularly (not necessarily daily) and to those people I say thank you. If it wasn't for this I don't know how long I could have stayed motivated to write daily posts. I did miss a few days at the start of April because I was away but now I have mastered the scheduling tool which means that if I am busy or unable to write a post on a certain day I can write one in advance and schedule it for release on that day. I have done this numerous times recently and it really does help me keep this Daily Blog Daily.

Sometimes I wonder how I manage to keep writing my daily posts sometimes when my workload gets very high (which it does). Some of my friends have even asked me this question. The truth is I don't actually know how I manage it. I made a commitment when I made this blog that I would write regularly in it and I've tried to stick to this commitment as much as I can. By now it has become just a part of my daily routine. Get home from school, do homework, have dinner, finish homework, write blog post, relax, get ready for bed, go to sleep. It just seems normal to me now that I don't really think about it as a chore, I just sort of thing about as something I have to do every night and find time for it. I don't even know how I come up with some of these topics I discuss. It generally comes from something that happened during the day. For instance, yesterday I discussed books because in the morning we had an author (Michael Pryor) come in to talk to us at Assembly. Sometimes I don't even think about what I'm going to write until I start and then it takes a few goes to find a topic I can actually make a post about. Sometimes I write a few introductions before I find the topic I am going to discuss. So I don't know how I keep up this blog, but I do and that is partly due to the motivation my viewers provide (in the form of views).

That's all for today and I really want to thank you all for viewing my blog and reading my posts. It really does mean a lot to me, especially when someone comments. I really enjoy that interaction with the readers.

For the 50th time: May the odds be ever in your favour, see you tomorrow!

Causing Offence

Causing offence is really easy today. Hell, it's highly probably causing offence right now (especially since I used the 'h' word, you know 'high'). People just need to toughen up (I said 'up', woops) sometimes because they are taking offence to everything. There are, of course, some things that are genuinely offensive and I can see how they get offended. Then there are the people who just go through sites like Facebook looking to be offended. Finally, there are just those people who get offended at everything and it is easier not to say anything so that people don't get offended.

First, the things that are clearly offensive. These are the posts, images and pages going around the internet that are clearly offensive and intended to cause offense. These can be anti-muslim (or any other religion, that was just the easiest term to put "anti-" in front of), sexist or any other offensive thing. Sometimes they are about religion or views but they can often be on interests (such as film, entertainment or games). These can be in the form of a direct attack (like "Harry Potter is crap and it's fans are stupid") or a subtle attack (like "The new union strikes are really stupid, like the boy with the lightning scar"). Sometimes these can offend a large number of people or it just offends a particular group (such as the Harry Potter Fandom).

Now there are the people that seem to go looking to be offended. These are the people who go on Facebook and look through pages that are going to offend them. So if they were a fan of Harry Potter they would go searching through anti-Harry Potter (I chose Harry Potter because it is the 11th most liked page on Facebook [as of January 2013] and shouldn't offend as many people as if I chose the KKK as an example) Pages and would then get really offended and be one of those people who comment on the post to share their anger at it. It is just a bit weird that people go looking to get offended and then complain because they are. It's just a little infuriating some times when you read these comments (besides the fact that they cause an interesting 'debate') and it just takes up some space in the comments section.

Finally there are those things that shouldn't offend anyone but somehow do. I saw a post that was literally "..." and then people in the comments section were having a giant debate about how offensive it was and I just kept scrolling before I lost my mind. Then there was a person who made a post about how the sky was a deep blue and then someone in the comments had a full-out argument saying something about someone dying and it being related to the colour blue (a person hadn't actually died and it was just an analogy, a stupid one). Again, sometimes I'm amazed I haven't lost my faith in humanity yet. I have learnt that some people are incredibly stupid and it just goes to show that even the most innocent of posts can be offensive in some way. Some people just seem to love being offended and sometimes it is just way too easy to cause offence. Some people just need to learn some resilience.

May the odds be ever in your favour, see you tomorrow!
