Stubborn Sandy

So I realise that this blog is doing a lot of discussion around Sandy. In that respect you could say that Sandy is a "Daily Lukey Star". Getting past that horrible title and introduction lets move on to the new 'topic' for 'discussion' today. So Sandy definitely has his moments and the poor dog is quite the source of inspiration. I swear, each time I take him for a walk (so basically every day) I find at least three points of inspiration for my post. However, I tend to save these posts for a rainy day. For instance, the day I write this post is Saturday yet it is scheduled for release tomorrow (Sunday to those of you reading this). As it is Fathers Day in Australia today (Sunday 1st September for those of you reading this post days after it was posted) I did not want to worry about writing a post. Okay, enough of that crap. The truth is I started writing this post for Saturday but forgot that I had my political party series that night. Since I had already given it a break on Thursday I could not do it again so here we are right now. Then the truth is that I published it with the stupid schedule thing not working so it came out today instead of tomorrow. Now you know the truth so let's move on. Politics coming out tomorrow.

So today I discovered another point of inspiration from Sandy. Actually you could say I rediscovered it as he has done it many times before. The thing about Sandy is that at times he can be a bit lazy. Sometimes he gets two walks a day (these are both full hour walks mind you) when Mum and I take him at different times and within a few days he just does not want to go for another walk. Sandy is one of the only dogs that I know that does this. He is so stubborn too that you can not drag him along as he sits his bum down or stands tall and does not move. He also gives you a face full of concentration when you try to pull him. As soon as you  let go however his face becomes very happy as he thinks he has won. Usually he does this as we are about to leave our front step at home. However, today he decided he would make me look like an idiot when we were crossing the road. We get to the corner and he sits like we always do. I praised him and then I started to move across the road. I put the 'I' in bold on purpose. Sandy made me look like an idiot by not moving and just sitting there. I thought at first he was just been cautious as there was a car coming even though it was a long way away. However, after five minutes of me struggling to cross the road I discovered it was just Sandy being stubborn. At one point I was holding it with two hands and it was only when I used my whole body to try and move Sandy that he, begrudgingly, began moving. I thought that would be all but no, a few stops down he does it again. It was obvious he just wanted to go home though because if you went in any direction he recognised as the way home he would move again. It was really annoying and incredibly embarrassing. Sandy is one stubborn dog.

A walk a day keeps the dog at bay (unless they are full of energy), see you tomorrow!

Lost

When I say lost I am not discussing the 'popular' television show and instead I am talking about the adjective used to describe an action. This action is often embarrassing and generally annoying. If you have ever lost something, which I am sure you have, then you will know what I mean. It can be very annoying to not have something that you spend ages trying to find. There is so much in our world that we can lose and these can range from our belongings to other things like feelings and other items. No matter what it is that we lose we generally feel something for it. I know in the numerous (and I mean numerous) times that I have lost things that I have always felt really worried, even if it is for a short time. However, nothing can compare (well at the time at least) to the feeling of relief you experience when you find the item you lost. It's magic.

Losing something can turn your good day into something of a nightmare. It can turn the brightest day dull and... Yeah, I am going to stop as I am going off on a crappy metaphorical rampage here. Basically losing something sucks. It sucks so much that you just want to disappear into nothing. I have lost my phone on numerous occasions. Granted these were generally for short periods of time but even for those short periods of time I felt a worry so deep that it manifested into some physical pit in my stomach threatening to... yeah, I really need to stop doing that because it happens too much. Back on the topic, while I search like hell for this I become very religious. At no other point in time am I as religious as when I have lost something. I pray and pray and pray to saint Anthony that I will find what it is I am looking for. Why do I pray to saint Anthony? Well that is because if you lose something you pray to Saint Anthony and you eventually find it. It has worked sometimes for me but I swear he must get so sick of me. Plus, the only time I really get heavily religious is when I lose something so in that respect it is a positive. Anyway, I have to go now because I keep losing track of where I am at.

Don't lose yourself in this blog though I give you permission to do so, see you tomorrow!

No Politics Today

So today I decided I would give you all a break from the 'boring' world of politics as it is often referred to as being. Of course, as I may have demonstrated through some of the political parties Australia has to offer, this is not true for all of politics. Such an assumption would be absurd and tantamount to stereotyping. Actually, it is stereotyping. Not all Politics is boring obviously political parties like the Australian Sex Party and the Coke and Bubblers Party contradict this statement. Also, have you seen parliament? It is like a court-room drama with one side fighting against the other and constant bickering. You may have realised that today's post is only a short one and that is, of course, because Thursday nights are a bit of a busy time for me and sometimes I am able to pre-write long posts and times where I have tests and essays coming up I do not have time to do all this. You guys are actually pretty lucky I still manage to reach my daily post quota at times. So yeah, I thought I would give you all a break from Politics today (see that 'smooth' transition back on topic) and so the series will continue in two days and I am pretty sure we are already past half-way through the parties so there should really only be two or three more. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your week, it's Friday tomorrow!

Can't wait for Friday, see you tomorrow!

Spring is Coming

Can you believe it? Already we are in the seventh week of Term 3 and almost into September! It's crazy. Sometimes time does fly and then at other times you just wish it would hurry up. With the change in month comes a change in season as well. The best part is we can already see it coming as the weather is definitely changing. However, since it is Melbourne where we have four seasons in the one day this could just be the weather playing tricks on us. However, I like to think otherwise.

Source:

The days are getting longer and the temperature is rising. Just a few days ago I was trying to protect myself from the bitter cold. However, today and yesterday were days where I could go outside and say to myself how warm it was. Of course, it was not Australian Summer warm but it was nice enough that it was quite comfortable to walk around in shorts, a shirt and a jumper. Even the jumper was unnecessary. I know have previously stated in two other posts that I like rain. However true this may be I also like beautiful spring days and even hot summer ones are alright with me. I just like the freedom you have to do things outside. Plus, it is a whole lot more enjoyable to walk the dog on good days like this. It is also pretty easy to motivate yourself to do this because you just want to be outside. As this blog continues you are probably going to eventually hear me say that I like just about everything. So far I have covered rain, heat and warmth. Next will probably the cold whenever that comes around again and so on. So do not think I am an up-and-down person with my interests. Rather think of it as someone who likes a variety of things for that is who I am. For now though it is time for me to go and enjoy the rest of this wonderful night. Wow, that is such a cliche. I am probably just going to end up watching YouTube videos or going on Facebook. Who am I kidding, of course I am going to do those things.

Gotta love the change in weather, see you tomorrow!

Party Crazy

This post will continue on from my series on the numerous political parties in Australia. Click here to check out Part 1 and here to check out Part 2. I have gone through 24 parties so far and am still not halfway through. By the end of the next twelve today I will be though. The following list is from the Australian Electoral Commission Website which has the complete list accurate as of the ninth of August 2013 when it was last updated. Here is the link:
Let's get started straight away.

Country Liberals is a Northern Territory Political Party affiliated with both the National and Liberal Parties of Australia and contests seats for the coalition in the Northern Territory rather than the National or Liberal Parties.

The Democratic Labor Party aims to stand for workers, fair trade, manufacturing, small businesses and families.

The Drug Law Reform Party exists to raise awareness of the ongoing harm being done to children, families, democratic institutions and society in general by current drug laws.

Family First Party is another of the more outspoken political parties and stands for strong families, strong values and a strong Australia.

The Future Party is one aimed at finding long-term solutions to problems through technology.

The Help End Marijuana Prohibition Party aims to re-legalise and regulate cannabis for personal, medical and industrial use in Australia. If you could not get that from the name then you should have paid more attention in class.

Katter's Australian Party was one that received some negative attention from the media earlier this year due to their controversial views. Their ideology includes social conservatism, protectionism, developmentalism and Keynesianism.

The Liberal Democratic Party stands for "greater freedom, smaller government and personal responsibility".

The Liberal Party of Australia, alongside the Labor Party, is one of the most predominant parties in Australia. They stand for inalienable rights and freedoms for all peoples (although they do not stand for same-sex marriage, kind of a contradiction there) and it also believes in governments minimising interference in everyday life while also nurturing and encouraging citizens through incentives, rather than limits.

The National Party of Australia traditionally representing graziers, farmers and rural voters generally.

The Nick Xenophon Group comprises of the independent member of senate Nick Xenophon who aims to stand for people who feel they have no voice in the Government. His website does not provide much useful information. However flashy it may be.

Finally, the No Carbon Tax Climate Sceptics is one of the more left-wing parties representing climate sceptics every. They aim to "... expose the fallacy of anthropogenic climate change". Anthropogenic basically means originating from human activity.

That is it for today, check back in two days for the next installment.

Still more to come, see you tomorrow!

The Melbourne Writers Festival

So today I had a glorious excursion into the city and particularly federation square. Why was it glorious you ask? Aside from the fact I had no classes that day and the weather was near-prefect it was really interesting to get a writer's perspective on how they approach their reading and their writing. Today I attended three sessions. The first was with Morris Gleitzman and two other authors but I cannot remember what the actual topic was other than them reminiscing about their reading techniques. The second session was with two bookdesigners who design the cover for books. It was basically a look at how they approach it and would be interesting for someone looking to work in this area. I therefore did not enjoy it as much. The final session was three people, two of which were authors, recommending books for us to read. It was interesting and I already have a few books that I will be looking out for. It finished with the announcement of the short-listed books for the 'Inkies' which is a literary award chosen by teenagers for teenagers and this was also interesting. The sessions I went to last year were focused more on the authors and their writing processes. For this reason I enjoyed myself more last year but still had a blast this year.
You should really check it out, see you tomorrow.

Still more Parties

Yeah, I am still in disbelief at the amount of political parties in Australia but I guess there are a lot of people who have a lot of different opinions to express. You may remember from the first part of this post that was published on Friday that there are fifty-four political parties in total. Some of them are your average parties while others are just a little bit "out-there". Some have some pretty good policies while others do not seem to have many plans in place. I went through twelve on Friday and another twelve today so let us continue our journey through Australian Political Parties.

The following list is from the Australian Electoral Commission Website which has the complete list accurate as of the ninth of August 2013 when it was last updated. Here is the link: http://www.aec.gov.au/Parties_and_Representatives/party_registration/Registered_parties/

We will begin with the Australian Sovereignty Party which believes that Australia should be "a united, democratic and sovereign nation - standing on a firm foundation of truth, freedom and justice for all". Then they go on to say that they are more than the over parties for what they are known for (I am not going to list everything they say).

The Australian Sports Party believes in "Healthy Living Through Sport". They focus on helping Australian live a "healthy well balanced lifestyle through sport and recreation, which provides enjoyment and creates strong communities".

The Australian Stable Population Party stands for a more stable population such that they do not want to have forty-million people living in Australia by 2050 and instead aim for twenty-six million in a bid to relieve many overstretched areas as well as reduce the cost of living and to promote education and training.

Australian Voice Party stands for a "free, open and fair society ... the principles of democracy" and believe they can fix all the problems that current politicians "seem incapable of solving" such as the health system, rising living costs, crime, small businesses, immigrants and food security.

The Bank Reform Party wants "strong banks for Australia, fair banks for all Australians" and want more control over the banks and their rising interest rates.

Building Australia Party supports "Housing Affordability, Sustainable Development, Cutting Unnecessary Red Tape, Protecting the Building Industry [and] Better Health Infrastructure".

The Bullet Train for Australia Party is a self-explanatory party that stands for the introduction of high-speed rail as a faster and environmentally friendly solution to congested highways among other things.

The Carers Alliance Party emphasises support for carers and people with disabilities.

Christian Democratic Party (Fred Nile Group) exists to support Christian representation in every level of Government such as Federal, State and Local.

The Citizens Electoral Council of Australia Party is a minor, left-wing political party affiliated with the LaRouche movement to fight for Peace through Economic development. It is a widely criticised party.

The Coke in the Bubblers Party is another one of those surprising parties you would not expect to be in politics. I could not access their website and could not find any other information about them.

Finally, the Country Alliance Party is a minor political part in Victoria with an almost contradictory focus on "anti-green but pro-environment" policies.

So you can see that Australia has some very interesting politics if you just dig a little deeper or run a Google search like I did. See you back in two days for the continuation!

So many parties but so little choices, see you tomorrow!

#BloggerProblems

As this is the 152nd post on this blog (I know, can you believe it?) I have encountered a number of recurring issues regarding daily blogging. I guessed that today was about time I shared some of these. Before I continue I just have to say that what I am writing about is not from just recently and some have been problems since the very beginning. So do not fall under the impression that daily blogging is easy. At times it can seem so, even to the blogger, but it is only afterwards that you realise how much time you spend each night just writing a post. Let alone finding inspiration, thinking about what you are going to write and sharing it out via Twitter and Facebook. So let's get started with Blogger Problems!

The first major blogger problem is finding inspiration. I know I say this a lot but good inspiration is sometimes not so easy to find. Sometimes I write posts about events that took place a long time before I actually posted about it. Often if I have something to write about and come across some more inspiration then I will save that extra inspiration for a time where I have none. For instance, at the moment I have a number of post ideas ready to go should the need arise. This comes especially handy when I need to schedule posts if I am going to be absent but still, it is so hard when I have a long spell of a boring life. This boring life of mine does ruin my blog-writing from time to time. Repetition is also a big problem with Blogging. You know that post I wrote earlier this week about Repetition? I wrote the whole introduction for that post about competition. Then I realised that I had already written a post about competition so I continued the post as if I had already known that. Yeah, if you did not pick that up then well I have nothing to say to you because it was a really bad cover up, even for me. Another blogger issue is time constraints. I am going to let you in on a little secret that everyone should know by now. The posts that come out late at night without any pictures and much context are done on my phone. This is mainly because during the day I am too busy with homework and all the other stuff I have going on so yeah, that is a big issue for many bloggers.

Life as a blogger is not always an easy one, see you tomorrow!

So many Parties

Yeah, before I go on I just have to say something. I am talking about politics in this post so when I say party I do not mean dance parties or birthday parties. No, I mean political parties. Did you know that Australia has fifty-four political parties? I mean, come on there are just so much yet still no clear options to vote for. I am just so grateful that I am only registered to vote and not yet old enough to actually vote. It really is a blessing. The following is a list of the fifty-four parties so yeah, let's have a look at what some people have come up with. This is only part one of a new series coming out every second day. This post will contain twelve parties so there will be more in two days.

The following list is from the Australian Electoral Commission Website which has the complete list accurate as of the 9th of August 2013 when it was last updated. Here is the link: http://www.aec.gov.au/Parties_and_Representatives/party_registration/Registered_parties/

The Animal Justice Party stands for Animal rights and the banning of live exports.

The Australia First Party (NSW) Incorporated is not a very interesting one with a horrible website. All I managed to glean from this site was their core values of Identity, Independence and Freedom.

The Australian Christians is a self-explanatory one that believes in joining the politics with religion and one without the other is not desirable. (Again, I am no expert so check Xavier's awesome current affairs blog for better and more reliable information).

The Australian Democrats is a very interesting party in terms of their website which is full of colloquialism and the first thing you see as soon as you open the site is a quote from the party founder which reads "Keep the bastards honest". Need I say more?

Australian First Nations Political Party does not actually have a website but rather a Facebook Page which I am not going to search through so instead I turn to Wikipedia. They focus on indigenous Australian sovereignty and Northern Territory statehood. Refer to Xavier's blog for better information.

Australian Fishing and Lifestyle Party are pretty laid back and has a site with parts left unfilled and can be seen as using a theme as there are parts that tell them what to write there but there is no writing. Editing is vital. I am not too sure what they really stand for though there are a lot of references to fishing so probably more focused on the related legislation.

The Australian Greens is the party that is more well-known and is pretty much an environmentalist party with a few other policies on the side.

Australian Independents believe in a better democracy where anyone who wants to run for parliament can easily do so to get their voice heard. They are very critical of the current democracy in place.

The Australian Labor Party is the current party in power and, along with the liberal party (see below), are the main two contenders for Parliament although neither is a very good option at the moment.

The Australian Motoring Enthusiasts Party is pretty self-explanatory party set up in response to legislation "inflicting on their lifestyle".

The Australian Protectionist Party with protectionist and nationalist parties. They aim to "protect, preserve and defend our identity, heritage and freedoms".

Australian Sex Party is one that is turning a few heads and is actually pretty interesting. Their policies include (but are not limited to) the legalisation (and heavy taxation) of marijuana, same-sex marriage, the legalisation of euthanasia and the abolishment of tax exemptions for religious groups.

So as you can see there is a lot of political parties and in two days come back for some more, see you tomorrow!

Annoying Laziness

Hooray! Time for another short pictureless post written on my phone! So as it will only be 'short' I am going to talk about laziness. In particular the annoying aspects of it. First is one I have probably mentioned once before. This is regarding the bus that starts right outside our school. Before I go on I just want to say that all I can hear right now is Mum doting over Sandy. Although I can not see it I know he is loving it. Anyway, so this bus route is actually necessary for some students to take so they can get home. However they often miss out on it because of all the lazy people just there to cut the ten minute walk to the train station. It's pathetic, annoying, rude and lazy. Then there are people who NEVER hand in homework on time yet suffer none of the 'consequences' the school mandates. They are just empty threats and only a few teachers actually follow through. Then there are cheaters; people who copy off others because they are too lazy. It's just so annoying.

Lazy people need to be more proactive, see you tomorrow!

Headphones

So before I begin this post I just have to warn you all about something. Despite the seemingly-innocent title this post is actually going to be a bit of a rant. Yeah, so if you do not want to read a rant about headphones then stop reading now because you are most likely not going to enjoy this. Wow, I really know how to sell a post. Anyway, moving on to the actual post. There are so many things that are annoying about headphones. Sometimes this can be painful in the figurative sense while at other times it needs to be taken more literally. I think I speak for everyone when I say that headphones can be really annoying. So yeah, the rest of this post is just going to be a bit of a rant as to why headphones are so annoying.

The first thing, which you should have seen from the picture, is how tangled headphones get. I would seriously not be surprised if the manufacturer made them such that they automatically tangled. It is just really annoying when you put them down for two seconds untangled and then come back and they are a complete mess. Seriously, I put it under my pillow in a neat line and then when I go to use them they are completely mixed up. In the dark frantically trying to use them before the video stops buffering and makes a loud noise. It is like trying to tie up a lolly-snake with your tongue and your mouth closed. Have you ever actually tried that? Do you know how hard it actually is? Anyway, getting back on the subject of headphones. Headphones can also be very painful, especially when a certain someone who shall remain nameless (Dad) rips them out of your ears to tell you something. I mean, I do not have it on loud enough that I can not hear anything outside of the ear-buds. Sometimes you just need to think before you act. Then there are the times when you forget that they are plugged in to your laptop and you move away. From here either the laptop moves with you and you ending up breaking it (or nearly smashing it to pieces) or your ears just really begin to hurt. Is it just me or has this happened to any of you as well. Headphones are just very annoying at times and I really want to destroy them all and banish them from the face of the earth.

Headphones are just incredibly infuriating sometimes, see you tomorrow!

It's Freezing!

So yeah, as you guys can see from the title it is freezing! By this I mean that it is very very cold and walking the dog made my hands go a little numb and Mum was dressed up like she was going to the snow. Seriously, I asked her as we were leaving (sarcastically of course) when it was going to start snowing. We almost turned back at one point because it got so freezing. Let's just say that Sandy was very lucky today when he got his walk. So from this experience, and to keep myself a little warmer while sitting in front of the fire typing this, I have come up with a few things that are good to do on freezing cold days, or at least things I like to do.

The first thing I am going to say is something I am doing right now. That is, obviously (if you read the above paragraph), sitting in front of the fireplace. It is just so nice to be able to sit with your back to it and just feel the heat hitting your body. It really makes you comfortable and sometimes it is just nice to turn around and watch the logs burn. Then there is probably what I will do later which is drink hot chocolate while wrapped in a blanket watching Under the Dome. Of course, what you actually watch or even do does not matter but the best part is just drinking something warm while relaxing in a blanket. Sometimes I am so grateful that I do not live in Canada or somewhere where it gets into the negative degrees. Another popular thing I find warming during these enduring Winter months is lying in bed curled up in blankets and reading a book. Of course you could do whatever you want while in bed (such as watching television or playing a game) but it is just nice to lie in bed and relax while also trying to keep warm. Again, I am so grateful that I do not live in countries where the Winters are freezing and the Summers are not much better. So those are a few of the things I enjoy doing when it is freezing. As always, if you have any you want to share just comment below, use the contact form to the right or email me directly at legolukeytutorials@gmail.com and I will reply.

Don't let the Winter months freeze your hopes, see you tomorrow.

Repetitiveness

Competitiveness is both a good thing and a bad thing. Sometimes competition can come from many different angles and each angle has its own drawbacks. Along with these drawbacks however there are often a few positives that can make our lives better. Sometimes competition can spur us to better and greater things while at other times it can dishearten us. Competition in small amounts can be a good thing but too much competition can have the quite the opposite effect. Sometimes we can even get carried away sometimes and lose ourselves in the competition. Too much of a good thing rarely leads to yet another good thing, do not forget that.

By this point I realise I had already written a post on competition in May so go read that if you wish (link to the right or on the word "competition"). It is times like these that you realise that daily blogging is sometimes not easy and even the inspiration you find, however new, can lead to a topic you have already written about. If you managed to get through that introduction without getting confused by the title then well done. I myself began writing this post as if it was going to be on Competition and from there I actually found my topic that I am actually typing about now. That is, obviously (well, obvious if you can read), about repetition. Sometimes we repeat ourselves without realising it or tell someone a story you told them last week because you forgot who you had told. Sometimes repetition can be annoying but at other times it is necessary. This is particularly true when it comes to learning. Having something told to you a number of times can actually help you to learn it and research has proven this to be true. Although, you do not really require research to know this. Basically, for Daily Bloggers or any blogger really faces the challenges of finding new inspiration everyday and sometimes this can be tricky. This is especially so during the Holidays or weekends where you might not actually do anything and therefore have no new experiences to inspire you to anything. Unless of course you right about laziness or the silly dog.

Repetition is annoying, see you tomorrow!

Annoying Things People do at Melbourne University Open Days

So last week you may recall I wrote a very similar post about some of the annoying things people do at University Open Days. That was all from my experiences at the RMIT University Open Days and I thought that there was no way that people could top some of the annoying things people did that day. However, today I went to the Melbourne University Open Day and my view of how annoying people can be changed. I am sad to say that I lost some of my faith in the future generations as well as their parents. For those of you who do not know, Melbourne University is the leading University in Victoria and has just being named Australia's number one University for 2013 so congratulations to them. Basically, it is like Melbourne's version of Oxford and due to its ranking and reputation it had a very busy Open Day with thousands of students (and their parents) trying to find the right course for them. This large volume of people also lead to a few annoying (and sometimes selfish) things that people did.

Before I go on I am just going to reiterate one of the points I made last Sunday about people stopping in the middle of busy pathways. This happened so many times today and it was even more annoying as it was a lot busier than the RMIT Open Day so it caused more blockages. Most of the time it was just teenage girls fan-girling (if you could call it that) over meeting new people. It was just so annoying. Other times it was just people arguing over where they were and where they should go next. Guys, just think about others around you when you do this. The second annoying thing I found today occurred during the Bachelor of Science information session. This session was so packed that they had to stop letting people in and the first time we tried to get in it was too full (and this was us arriving fifteen minutes before it started). So basically you either came very early (like we did the second time) or tried your luck at coming a little bit later. So imagine my annoyance when I saw people not even paying attention to what was going on and instead texting or playing on their phones. It was just so disrespectful and rude to both the lecturer and the voluminous amount of people who could not make it in. Some people would miss out while others got the opportunity but did not do anything or even pay attention. It really set me off the deep end (in my mind, I am not that kind of person [ or am I? {Seriously though, I am not}]). Then there were the parents who did not care about anyone but themselves and so when Dad and I arrived around forty minutes early for the next session (we had to otherwise we would never get in) there were already people waiting so we waited behind them in the corner so we did not block the exits for people coming out when this eventually did occur. However, around 20 minutes before it is about to start a few parents come storming down and push their way towards the front of the crowd. Then they give everyone who is shooting them daggers death stares. Seriously, if looks could kill there would have been a massacre at the Sidney Myer Asia Centre. It was just incredibly rude, selfish and disrespectful of them to expect to get ahead of people who had been waiting upwards of half-an-hour. One lady was actually told to leave because of doing this and believe me, I wish I could have cheered (but that would have woken up Dad who kept falling asleep on me [not literally on me but you get the point]). So that was my annoying University Open Day experience I had to get out of my way. Seriously though guys, the rest of the day was exceptionally wonderful (despite the bad weather) and Melbourne University is a great place to learn.

Do not let the annoying things ruin your day, see you tomorrow!

Technology

Technology has made our lives better in so many ways. For one, it keeps us entertained. Keeping people entertained is one hell of a good thing sometimes. Especially when you are somewhere like a restaurant and need to keep the kids entertained so they do not, as the phrase goes, "run a muck". Before I go on, can I just point out how weird "run a muck" sounds. I mean, it seems as though someone is actually managing a muck. I have no idea how that one came about but anyway, moving on. So yeah, in my life keeping people entertained so they do not get bored is a big plus and all these new technological advances in devices and applications makes life so much easier for us and for them.

Before any of these technologies came about people, especially children, would just get bored. Even if they bought a book they would still get bored. Let's face it, for children, books are only interesting for a little while and soon they just become boring and the child moves on. When the Nintendo DS came around this all changed. Suddenly the kids were bringing their portable game consoles and playing through games that would keep them entertained for the whole time. However, they soon became bored of playing alone so then came the multi-player. Not just any multi-player, wireless multi-player. Yeah, I went there. This would keep them entertained for even longer as all they would want to do is beat each other and just keep playing until they had 'won'. Soon though the DS was left uncharged and forgotten so when they came to play it there was nothing to play for it was flat. Even if they got passed this hurdle they began to get bored. Then Apple came out with the 'new' iPod Touch which kept people entertained for hours with the number of new applications coming out daily growing exponentially. Yeah, we just finished the exponential and logarithm chapter in Methods. Finally the kids remained entertained for a long time as once they got bored of a game, they would simply move onto the next one. If they ever ran out of new games to play they would just download a new one. Luckily these are still working today and it makes our lives heaps easier. Without them they would get bored and basically "run a muck". Technology, you have done wonders in our lives.

Technology helps in more ways than one, see you tomorrow!

Fridays

Before I go on I am going to type something and I am only going to type this once (although you could read it as many times as you want, and this of course), thank god it is Friday. Of course, I could have also typed "TGIF" but that would have taken far less space, time and reasoning. In short, it would have been smarter but these extra sentences make the introduction just a little bit longer. I am just saying, being smart is sometimes over-rated and out-dated so just waffling on, as some put it, can be the better option at times. At least it means you guys actually have something to read. So, we all love Friday and here are some reasons why:

The first, and most obvious, reason is the weekend. At the end of a long week of staying up late and waking up early it is nice to know that you do not have to get up as early for two days at the end of five long days. That's part of the reason why I love Fridays. On Monday I am slightly tired in the mornings but by Friday afternoon I just want to fall asleep and then I go home and that night I can just sleep until 9am when I need to get up for music. Then Sunday is basically sleep-in until I want (well, until Dad or Mum comes in and interrupts my dreams). That is why I love it because I know that once school is finished and I have returned from Jujitsu I have the rest of the weekend for myself as well as anything else I need to do or catch up on. It is just really nice. Another reason I love Friday is I get to just relax for a night without having to worry about homework. In terms of homework the weekend is also a great time to catch up on anything and if I do not have much homework then I am set to have a pretty good weekend. I suppose it is the relaxation that Friday represents after a week full of five long days that makes it so appealing. For me this is true anyway.

You do not have to be religious to say TGIF, see you tomorrow!

Assignments and Due Dates

Whenever there is an assignment or something due on a certain date there are always people who struggle to stick to these dates. This even occurs when we get an exceptionally long period to compete the task. Even on the day there are still some people who struggle to stick to these constraints. You can always tell when an assignment or something is due the next day because the class Facebook group suddenly becomes very active as everyone leaves it to the last minute with no hope for completion. It is also annoying as even though teachers always threaten consequences for not adhering to deadlines they remain only threats. It just makes it so unfair for the students who put in the effort and handed it in on time. Tomorrow we have a science prac report due on an experiment we conducted and currently the Facebook group is being hit by a storm of people starting their reports too late and getting stuck. I came to write this just to get away from it all. These people will struggle through VCE and University when deadlines are much stricter and if you do not hand it in on time you fail.

Just get organised, see you tomorrow!

Sorry for another short post today!

Instagram and Lady Gaga

So big news everybody. Well, maybe not big news for you but for me it is yet another large, if not incredibly late, step into the world of modern technology. As you guys may know I have a Personal Facebook Account and a Facebook Page (link on right to page) for this Blog as well as a Twitter account which I tweet out all my posts (except the ones I do so late that I fall asleep just after posting them). Well now, as you may have already guessed if you actually read the title, I have added Instagram to my social media repertoire. The link to this I have added to the others on the right side of the page. Otherwise you can just click here or follow @dailylukey on Instagram. Here I will be posting pictures of stuff throughout my day as well as sneak peeks of blog posts, updates for this blog as well as some of the pictures I liked but could not fit in this blog. This may not seem as big a news to you as I make it out to be but trust me, for me it is huge. Do you know I actually have Tumblr? Truth is, neither did I until two days ago when I received an email about my account. I must have forgotten I made one, woopsies.

In other news Lady Gaga recently released a new song from her upcoming album "ArtPop" which hits stores on the 11th of November (yep, 11/11). The new song, Applause, was released yesterday (13th of August) and you can listen to it by clicking on the video below. Gaga was forced to release this song a week earlier than anticipated due to hackers leaking a low-level quality of it the night before. After just over a day of release it has already over 5 million views on the YouTube Vevo channel it was released on. The song certainly returns to more of her electro-type songs and personally, I love it along with little monsters (what Lady Gaga calls her fans) everywhere. Don't let the video thumbnail let you off listening to the song, just enjoy the sounds of Applause. Enjoy!

Don't forget to follow @dailylukey on Instagram, see you tomorrow!

Characters we Love to Hate

Throughout history there have always been those characters in texts we have just loved to hate. These texts have include books, movies, television shows and even videos on the internet. No matter who we are we generally have those characters who we hate so much it becomes something we enjoy to do. A great example of this would be Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter Book series by J.K. Rowling. He is the sort of character we hate but, at times, have sympathy for. We love Draco for that as he is a character we can hate without feeling bad about it. Here are a few others I have come up with:

Ollie Dinsmore: Under the Dome

Ollie Dinsmore is a farmer in the new television drama airing on CBS (America) and Channel Ten (Australia) Under the Dome which is based on the book of the same name by Stephen King. Ollie is a farmer who owns the only pump with the only fresh water under the dome after the water tower was destroyed in an accident. He is just such an evil character who only cares about what is in his best interests and not in the interests of everyone else in Chester's Mill (the town stuck under the dome).

President Corinalius Snow: The Hunger Games Trilogy

Suzanne Collins hit the jackpot with this series and President Snow is one character you just love to hate. At first he just appears as one of the rich and arrogant Capitol Citizens but it later turns out that President Snow knows a lot more than he lets on and is more guilty than anyone else in Panem. However, by the end of the trilogy Collins challenges your view of Snow in such a way that you think twice about how guilty Snow really is and whether there are others worth more blame than him.

Dwight Schrute: The Office

There is no other comedic character in television history that is as funny, naive yet smart as Dwight Schrute. He always thinks himself three steps in front of everyone else when most of the time he is either being tricked or just mistaken. He really is a hilarious character to watch in the American remake of this British Comedy hit. Dwight really epitomises the love-to-hate relationship.

Don't let the hated characters ruin your favourite shows, see you tomorrow!

Emotional Movie and Television Moments

Throughout time there have always been things that make the strongest of us a little emotional. In modern times such things are often related to technology and for us this means television and movies. We all have those scenes that make us cry. For some of us that is the scene in Titanic (though personally it was emotional but no cry-worthy) and for others it is for the deaths of some our favourite anime characters. Here I have compiled a list of some of the stuff that made me emotional over the years. Of course, this is not a complete list but rather only the ones in the forefront of my mind.

Doctor Who: Amy and Rory's Final Chase

For many whovians (people belonging to the fandom of Doctor Who) it was hard not to shed a tear during this heartfelt scene in "The Angels Take Manhattan". I only started watching Doctor Who towards the end of Term 1 but I already felt connected enough to some of the characters to get a little emotional. Of course, the backing track to this scene adds to the emotion of the moment (Song: "Together or not at all"). Even Rory just saying "To save you, I could do anything" began my tears and then Amy's reply to the Doctor: "Changing the Future. It's called marriage" was just the tipping point for me. Seeing Amy crying and hugging Rory as the fell just made it worse. See the video below for the clip.

Marley and Me

The scene when Marley dies was one of the first times I actually cried when watching a movie. It was highly emotional as throughout the course of the movie you grow a connection to the dog and then he dies and you see his family's reactions which just add to the emotion. It is just something about seeing others cry that makes me sad as well. I believe you might call it empathy.

Doctor Who: Turn Left

Not many whovians actually appreciate this episode for how good it is. The final episode before the two-part finale occurs during Season 4 with David Tennant as The Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna Noble. It shows a bug who makes you go back in time and change a major decision in your life and it feeds off of what might have been but no longer is. It was very raw and emotional as Donna never meets the Doctor and subsequently he dies. Other people notice there is something weird about Donna's back (where the bug is) but no one can really put their finger on it. We also see Billie Piper return to reprise her role of Rose Tyler who tells Donna of what might have been and what is still to happen. Donna has to face the fact that she had a very important life that now she will never experience unless she goes back and forces her past self to go with her original decision. Donna does not realise until the final moments that this means jumping in front of a truck and killing herself which makes the scene more emotional. The following scene takes place just after Donna jumps in front of a truck and Rose whispers something in her ear.

Doctor Who: Asylum of the Daleks Clara Oswin Oswald

I know there are a few Doctor Who scenes in here but there are just a lot of emotional scenes and they are all fresh in my mind. Let's face it though, Doctor Who is a show with many highs and just as many lows. Anyway, so this episode is about the Doctor, Rory and Amy beamed down to the Asylum of the Daleks where the worst of all Daleks are put by Daleks as they were too radical. The trio have to disarm the shield around the planet in order for it to be destroyed but while down there they find themselves in trouble with a few of the bad Daleks. The character of Clara Oswin Oswald helps them get away but when the Doctor goes to retrieve Clara he discovers that she has been turned into a Dalek but has created a scene in her mind to avoid the horrible truth. This is the scene where the Doctor has to explain it to her. It is very emotional.

Annoying Things People do at University Open Days

So if you have been reading my blog for some time now you may remember a post I wrote back in late May about Annoying Things People do During Exams. Well today I went to the open day for RMIT University in the City and I found some of the things people did there just as (if not more) annoying than some of the stuff I wrote about regarding exams. There was actually a lot of annoying things that people did there so here is a list of some of the most annoying. As always, feel free to share any of yours that I may have missed in the comments section, via the contact form to the right or a direct email to legolukeytutorials@gmail.com and I will reply to you (unless you say otherwise). Do not be afraid to share.

The first, and most annoying, thing people can possibly do at a University Open Day is stop and chat to people in the middle of a corridor or on the stairs. This is especially annoying in buildings where hallways are narrow or there is no other way around. This is the case for many Universities and so it annoys me so much that people feel they have the right to stop everyone behind them so they can have a nice chat to some person they see. The worst part is when you try to say "Excuse me" and they give you the evil eye as if you are in the wrong. One time I just gave them the evil eye back because I had enough of all these people stopping in the middle of the path. Then there are the people who come to these things just for all the free stuff. These are the people that go to all the places you need to go just for the free stuff and not actually for the information. It happened to me twice today when I wanted to ask someone something or learn something more about a course and these people were just standing there taking the free stuff so in the end I just left and Dad and I came back to it later. You also have, from time-to-time, those girls who are so superficial and make friends with some of the people behind the desks and just stand there laughing and squealing at random intervals. It looks really horrible for the person they are 'friends' with and annoying for everyone else. I had two such girls right outside one of the lecture theatres I was in trying to listen to information about a course. It was just so annoying because half the time all I could hear was there squealing. I really do not see the point of coming to a University Open Day and not check out some of the courses. It just seems really absurd. Another annoying thing is with the elevators. Today I had a girl in there who got on from the fourth floor and wanting to get to the fourth floor. She kept pressing the button and the door kept reopening and it was just really annoying because she was holding everyone up. In the end she just gave up and let the elevator go. It was so annoying I just did not say anything because I was not helping someone like that. I am sorry but if you annoy me so much when I do not even really know you, do not expect me to help you. So that was but a mere few of the annoyances I experienced at today's RMIT University Open Day. It is Melbourne University Open Day next Sunday so you may read something similar then.

When at a University Open Day be mindful of others trying to gain some information out of the day, see you tomorrow!

Embarrassing Parents

When we think of our parents most of what comes to our minds are the embarrassing moments. Sure, we may remember the occasional happy reunion or casual day that we experienced but we still retain those embarrassing moments with us for the rest of our lives. Sometimes the embarrassment is constantly repeating over and over again as if they do not learn. Other times it is just a one-off, although that is still one time too many. I do believe that a large part of being a Parent is embarrassing your children. For me it happens all the time and even the dog can be a source of embarrassment in this family.

Sometimes parents can be embarrassing without even realising they are. My dad, for example, takes ages to turn his phone off when it rings and we are somewhere. The problem is he waits until he knows who is calling him before he stops it ringing. Sometimes this can take a while if Dad is not sure. All the while the phone just keeps ringing and the ringtone is a loud one too so by this point nearly everyone has heard it. It is just so embarrassing and he does not even realise the amount of embarrassment this causes me and my mother. Other parents are just overly competitive. Sometimes you would just wish they would stop talking to other parents because it is just so embarrassing. Parents just love to exaggerate and whenever something good or exciting happens everyone has to know. Luckily my parents are not that bad (they just keep it within the family) but other offspring are not so lucky. Then there is what your parents (especially fathers) think is acceptable clothing to wear out shopping. Sometimes I wish I could pretend I did not know this person due to the dirtiness of what he can wear. Sometimes parents just do not realise (or pretend not to realise) the embarrassment they can (and will) cause us on a weekly basis.

Don't let embarrassing parents keep you down, see you tomorrow!

Performances

Performances are hard for most people. There are, of course, quite a number of people who are completely at ease with performance but then they are the lucky ones. They are the ones that we all want to be yet still wish we were somewhere else. Something about public performances just makes people feel nervous. I guess that brings us all back to one of man's greatest fears. That is the fear of being judged by other people. Psychologists have shown that this is one of our greater fears so much though that it can turn the bravest of us into nervous wrecks.

There are many different types of performances out there which can have a diverse range of effects on the performer. For example, tonight I had a piano performance for the Music Society of Victoria (MSV) which went really well. The thing with me is that when I practice at home I make all these mistakes, especially right before a performance. However, when I play it in front of a crowd it is played almost perfectly. This even happens to me during my Piano Exams and is part of the reason as to why I get such good grades. I stress out before hand and make heaps of mistakes in practice. When I go to perform it is as if I never made a mistake in practice. That is just one of my reactions to public performances. Some people have the exact opposite reaction and play it perfectly alone yet choke when they come to performances. I am just one of the lucky ones although I do become a nervous wreck. Then there are the people who need absolutely no practice for their performance (musically or otherwise) and yet still perform perfectly. I guess they are just the lucky ones.

Practice generally makes perfect, see you tomorrow!

Cranky

There are a lot of people, places and things in our life that can make us cranky. The thing is, we are all different and so react in a myriad of ways. Some times our reactions are slow and drawn out while other times it is short and sharp. We can never truly know when our inner crankiness will be unleashed but we can generally feel it coming on. We all just get a little annoyed at everything and what we would normally forgive gets blown out to epic proportions. I guess the best we can do is keep moving on and past the experiences that ruin our moods.

I wrote earlier that we all get cranky from different sources. Some people get cranky when they are hungry. This is often referred to as being 'hangry'. Basically whenever you feel hungry you also have feelings of anger and your tolerance is virtually non-existent. This is very similar to the more common tired cranky which is basically the same as being 'hangry' except instead of feelings of hunger there is fatigue. This is the type of cranky I experience. Throughout the day I contain myself and any outbursts are all jokes and not serious. Despite how annoying some people can be I just soldier on and contain myself. However, this also means that when I get home my patience is virtually non-existent (except where Sandy is involved) and you do not want to cross me when I am in one of those moods. Like the Hulk, you would not like me when I am angry. So you see there are different types of cranky and each one is different for each person.

If you feel yourself close to an outburst, try to remove yourself from the situation. See you tomorrow!

Tired

So there was meant to be a normal post tonight but since I was out with Family I had pre-written a post and scheduled it for release at around 6pm. However, I get home and find that somehow I have messed up the dates and scheduled it for release next Wednesday. So I will see what I can do with that post such that it might come out tomorrow or another time. Tonight though I am just too tired to have to worry about that so that is why today's post is just a paragraph. If there was ever a post I wrote about Daily Blogger  Problems this would be one. That actually sounds like a good topic so expect to see that sometime soon. I'll have to finish this post now as I can feel myself starting to fall asleep.

Getting enough sleep is very important for your overall wellbeing, see you tomorrow.

Inspiration

It can be really hard to find inspiration for these posts sometimes. You may have noticed that a lot of the time I refer to social media like Facebook or Twitter. This is because I sometimes scroll through my Twitter feed and Facebook News Feed to find something to write about. In this way, Social Media is a great resource for this blog (also helps me get it out there). So sometimes I scroll through and I might see someone say something that annoys me because everyone else says it or it is stupid. From here I think of a way I could write a post about it. If I think of something I start but if I can not I just keep scrolling. So you see finding inspiration for these posts is a little harder than you may think (especially since this is the 134th post on this blog and I do not double-up on topics (excluding Daily Updates, Random Questions, or Posts that come in parts). Scrolling through my news feed just over a month ago I found an inspirational picture of a blind guy I was always trying to insert somewhere but I just never really found a place for it, until now. So, before I continue be sure to read the picture below (yes, I said read).

It is just a really inspirational interview (I think that is what is happening) that makes you reflect on human nature and the way we judge other people. Here we have a blind person who looks on the bright-side of life and sees the best in people as he can not see them for what they actually are. He can not judge a book by its cover as he can not see the book to begin with. Despite how hard it must be to have no sight in both eyes (I was just trying to stretch out the term 'Blind') he does not let this stop him from enjoying life. It is just one of the inspirational posts I wanted to write about but, until now, never had the chance. This picture is inspirational for all the right reasons for once which is a good thing and is actually pretty exciting to still be able to write posts that restore our faith in humanity rather than focusing on the negatives because, as a society, we see what is bad and rarely what is good. I do enjoy writing these posts from a positive source as it means I get to focus on the positive side of the world rather than the negative. So inspiration is hard to find but once it is found it is quite the topic to write about.

He may be blind but he sees better than most, see you tomorrow!

The Twelfth Doctor

That's right, BBC has announced the actor to be portraying the Twelfth Doctor. Peter Capaldi was announced as the lucky actor during a special live-broadcast (on ABC at 4am in Australia). If you have been living under a rock or, like the majority of people, do not watch (or follow closely) Doctor Who then you probably had no idea that the eleventh doctor, played by Matt Smith, was finishing (I guess you could sort of call it retiring from the role). This left many fans disappointed earlier this year when it was revealed Smith was leaving but also left others hopeful for the future with talks of possibly a female doctor going around. However, after a long interview process Peter Capaldi was the one selected and we all hope he can fill the big shoes left by many of his predecessors. I just can not wait to see the regeneration which I think is either happening in the 50th Anniversary Special (Premiering late November) or in the proceeding episodes. However, it is time to say goodbye to Matt Smith and looks towards the future and towards Peter Capaldi (I keep wanting to call him Nick, I do not know why).

The 55 year-old actor was born in Scotland is also a film director. He has had many roles throughout his career and is best known (perhaps) for his roles as Malcolm Tucker in the BBC comedy series The Thick of It and its follow-up film In the Loop. It would appear that yet another comedian (or at least actor adept at portraying comedy) is to fill the shoes of the Doctor. However, each Doctor is known for different things and it will be interesting to see how this incarnation of the Doctor acts and reacts to the things around him. At high school he was also the lead singer of the punk-rock band called Dreamboys. Just a bit of a fun fact to lighten the paragraph. For more information on Peter Capaldi you can click this link which will take you to the Wikipedia page because if you can not trust Wikipedia, who can you trust? Just so you know, I am joking here. I know that Wikipedia is not one-hundred-percent reliable. I can not wait to see how this Doctor works and look forward to his appearance.

The Doctor is watching you, see you tomorrow!

Wet

Today was yet another one of those rainy days and I have no idea where I thought I was going with this sentence. Basically, if you are new or did not notice the hyperlink on the text above or (like me) could not be bothered reading another post then you will not know (but now will) that I like rainy days. The reasons for which I will not go into as I already did in the post I linked above (I think). However, today was one of those exceptions where I wished that it had not rained. I suppose that is why I titled today's post "wet" instead of something more descriptive or just something 'more' like "wetter" or "wet days". Anyway, back to the topic, there was a fair bit of stuff that was done today but I am sure more could have been done if it had not rained.

Is it just me or are we using more and more excuses everyday? For example, if it is raining that is just another excuse not to do something you knew you were most likely not going to do anyway. So, when I say rain can be annoying I mean it. Lucky for me I had one of those rare weekends where I had no homework. Before I go on, I have something to admit. Between the last sentence and the one before it I may have gotten a little distracted. Somehow, while typing this I started thinking about the RMIT open day next Sunday and from there I began wondering when the Melbourne University one was. Long-story-short I was halfway through signing up for something online when I realised I was still writing this. Sorry guys, I will not blame the rain for this one though. I will blame my epic procrastination skills though. Wow, I have gone off topic so much during this post. It is starting to become a problem. So, because I had no homework (casually proceeding as if nothing ever happened) I learnt how it felt to be my middle brother for a change. If you read my post the other day on frustration you will know what I mean. It was relaxing but I also did manage to help Dad stack up the wood he cut as well as go on a driving lesson and visit my grandmother. So you see it was not entirely a waste of a weekend but rather one of those relaxing ones you need every so often to just refresh yourself. I am sorry about this post as it has been all over the place and only the introduction really had anything to do with wet days.

If I ever go off on a tangent just continue reading as if nothing is happening, see you tomorrow!

Disgusting

There are some really horrible and disgusting things around today that we can not help but experience. Today I experienced one such thing that made me wish I could just disappear and reappear instantaneously at home. Basically I was walking Sandy and, as always, Sandy chose that he would do his constitution as far away from any bin and home as he could possibly do. I seriously have begun wondering if Sandy does that on purpose. Anyway, back to the story. So, like a good owner, I got out a poo-bag and picked it up. As I was doing this the bag shifted in the wind (it was very windy today by the way) and a few of my fingers came in direct contact with the poo. It was disgusting and there was an immediate dropping reaction. I literally stood there for two seconds before I realised the bag was blowing away. I had to chase it and then get out another bag to bag the old bag (it was covered in... well, you know), if I can find another way to write bag. They say you never know a dog until you have touched their poo. If that is true then I am happy with how much I knew of Sandy before. It was disgusting but provided me with the inspiration for this post.

Have you ever noticed how disgusting some people can be? I mean both physically and in what they say. First, with the physical (okay, now it sounds like I am going to be ruining body images). I was on a camp once (it was band camp, I know, so cool) and was hanging out with a few people (yeah, I said it) and one of them was just plain disgusting to the point that it was rude. For instance he had a cold and was always coughing and sneezing without covering his mouth. Let's just say I was glad I was over to the side with the piano instead of next to him with the other instruments. Then we had dinner it was like on of those things where you do not want to look but you have no choice without making it look obvious. Plus, I am not very subtle so my way of avoiding would have been looking directly away or shutting my eyes (very classy, I know). Basically he would eat with his mouth open (so you could see everything [yuck]) and then he would talk with food in his mouth. It was disgusting but I battled through and did not let my disgust show. Then there are the disgusting things that you can hear people say. The other day on the way home from school there was a guy and a girl at the train station. The girl was okay but the guy was so impatient. He was swearing metro and the trains for every name under the sun (not literally though, it would appear he would not know that much language). I was just sort of staying away from them and aimed for a different carriage on the train but still, it was disgusting the way he was talking. Plus he was just talking so nonchalantly that it seemed that he believed it was alright (if not admirable) for him to be saying such language. Like my grandmother would say; "That boy needs a good smack around the ears and some cold hard discipline". As you can see, there is a lot of disgusting things and people in the world (well that was offensive) but if we look past this minority and look at the majority our faith in humanity may be restored.

Don't let the disgusting make you disgusting, see you tomorrow!

Ouch

Well there are just so many things in our lives that make us go "ouch". Sometimes this is actual physical pain (or as some people call it "ouchie") and other times it is just mental. Some times all we want to do when we witness something is cringe. Is it just me or does this happen all too often? So today I am compiling a list of some of the things that make me go "ouch". To start things off I am going to say writing these introductions. They are so painful but also very necessary. Without them you would have no idea why I am listing such random things until right at the end if at all. Then there is the body that follows this introduction that can sometimes be just as bad when I look back because I was caught up in the 'emotion' of writing. Yeah, even I can not believe I just wrote that (#nojudge).

Then there is the reason behind this post which happens to me nearly every Friday night during the school term. Of course, I am talking about the constant falling-on-your-backside Jujitsu. Especially now I am purple belt training for my black-white belt it is so much more as I am teaching some of the younger grades every now and again. So, as I write this, I am trying not to put pressure on my backside because it aches so much. Anyway, no gain without some pain. Then there is the things I see some people post on Facebook. It actually makes me cringe sometimes the problems that people have. I mean, if you have a problem about someone do not make an overarching status and leave everybody questioning in the comments and then say "Oh, I don't want to talk about it". I was talking about frustrations yesterday and I suppose that this one sort of goes over into both posts. Even watching Sandy can cause me some pain sometimes. Literally in the sense that he trips me over and figuratively in the way of watching what he does. Sometimes he even walks into letter boxes which is more embarrassing for me rather than hurting for Sandy. It hurts even more when he begins to park at the inanimate object that is a letter box. People really do stare at you and all Sandy can care about is getting back at the letter box that hit him. He also has a habit of barking at this house's Christmas decorations every year. It is something about the inflatable Santa on the see-saw that he just does not like. So, as you can see, there is so much that causes me pain and just really makes me go "ouch" in more ways than one.

Don't let the embarrassing times ruin your proudest ones, see you tomorrow!

Frustrations

There are just so many things that frustrate us in the world of today. Some of them are things we have no control over while some of them we do have some control but still do nothing about. We are all unique in this way as we all have different frustrations and different issues. Some of these are trivial, some are concerning while others are just plain frustrating (well, duh). First off, writing these introductions are frustrating. However they are also necessary because if I just started straight into what I was doing people would have no idea what was going on until halfway through. So you see, not all frustrations are unnecessary and without reason. I guess today's post will just be me venting my frustrations on a few things, some of which do not really concern me directly but are still frustrating.

My first frustration is how I am doing homework nearly every single night and yet my brother can get through a whole week doing barely an hour. The worst part is he is doing VCE! All he does is come home and watch television. I mean, he went through three seasons of King of Queens in a week! On top of that he has work and CFA so it is just so unfair. Then he comes in and annoys me when I am trying to do my homework and I am only doing one VCE subject this year. He is in year 12!! It is just so frustrating. I rarely have time other than the weekend to watch a DVD and if I do watch television I will be on my laptop while doing it or just watching some of the shows on free to air television. Here is one that does not actually involve me but is actually frustrating. Every afternoon after school now the bus that goes past the station and starts at our school is always so packed of people that some times the bus driver has to stop people getting on. This is incredibly frustrating as generally there are only a few who actually use that route to get home while the rest are just lazy and can not be bothered to walk the distance which is not even one kilometre and can be done in under ten minutes. Like I said, they are just really lazy. It also means that the people who actually do have to use that bus to get home are the ones that miss out because of the selfish majority. It is just so frustrating! They were just two examples of things that frustrate me but I will not go on otherwise, again, this blog will be made into one where you have to show your age before entering.

Don't let the frustrations get you down, just take deep breaths and stay calm, see you tomorrow!
