Welcome Back to the World of the Weird

Welcome back to yet another Weird News Tuesday post. Actually, the first Weird News Tuesday post in a little while due to technological set backs. Hopefully, this segment continues consecutively for a little while longer. Anyway, since it has been a while I guess there are a lot of weird news events that we have been missing. I guess we had better get started then if we want to catch up! The news site I am using this week is called Express and is yet another British news site. I am sorry but apparently the British love weird news. I am only finding these sites through Google Searches you know. Two twins in Newcastle have beaten the odds (400,000 to 1) by having their babies on the same day. Apparently this is newsworthy items so I guess the British have been running a little low on weirdness lately. Hopefully, the Sochi Olympics have raised the bar for them again. They always say that you never forget your wedding day. Well this couple are certainly never going to forget theirs after the Police were called when a drunken food fight involving Pork Pie (something very important to the story for some weird reason). The couple since laughed it off but apparently guests had been drinking since 2pm that afternoon and tensions had been rising before the food-fight broke out. The photo below is headlining the story. I kid you not.

In other news, there have been fears for the welfare of the Loch Ness Monster since she disappeared and no one has seen her. I guess news is slow around Loch Ness these days if this is all they can focus on. I guess it is good in some ways though as it means there must not be something very important going on around them that would distract them from the plight of the Loch Ness Monster. A viral video popped up during the week after a sky-diver dropped his GoPro camera before jumping out of the plane. The video is hilarious as the camera falls in a pig pen where a pig slowly saunters over to try and eat it. It is really good (in terms of viral videos) and you can watch the video by clicking here. As of late, there has been another one of those medical occurrences that no one can explain. Right now, it is a girl who cries tiny stones instead of tears. There is nothing wrong with the twelve year-old girl and if you doubt the story you can watch the video that featured on Yemen's TV Networks by clicking here. The girl is from Yemen if you did not realise so I guess all the weird news does not have to come from Britain (though it sure seems like it sometimes). An owner has been annoyed by his dog who has chewed through an 8,000 pound Aston Martin (over AU$100,000). The sheepish dog, Luce, is pictured below next to the damage caused to the owner's prized possession.

I am a bit busy with school-work at the moment so I am going to have to finish this post here. See you tomorrow!

Melbourne Tourists

So there is something special about the type of tourists that come to Melbourne. Although they come from all over the world they all seem to share the same kind of traits and do the same sort of stuff. I call these traits the "Melbourne Tourist" traits. As you can see, I have a great imagination. You guys do not actually realise but I have wrote the last two posts (meaning today's post and yesterday's post) while watching Doctor Who so I guess they might be a little distracted.

Melbourne being as (for want of a more appropriate word) awesome as it is there is no surprise that it is such a popular tourist destination. However, having so many tourists there are a lot of things you pick up about the different types. First you have the wanna-be photographers. These are the tourists that just seem to take picture after picture after picture of things we find meaningless. Seriously, I saw people take a photo in front of a streetlight in Melbourne once with nothing in the background. Some people just can not stop with the photos. Then you have the always so happy tourists that just seem to walk around with permanent smiles and permanent loud (and ecstatic) voices. Once I heard one tourist remark (in a heavy Swedish accent) "A tree! Oh, a bench! Oh, a tram!" That last one I understand as not many places in the world actually have trams and even less use them in the same way as we do. My laptop is about to die so I am going to make the next one my last one. The final type I will discuss is the permanently talking ones. These are the tourists who continuously talk to each other in their native languages so you have no idea what they are saying. Not only is this a little unnerving when they could be talking about you it is also annoying when they become so obsessed with their conversations they do not care for others around them.

Next time you are out and about, check how many types of tourists you can spot (make it a game). See you tomorrow!

It's Freezing!

So yeah, as you guys can see from the title it is freezing! By this I mean that it is very very cold and walking the dog made my hands go a little numb and Mum was dressed up like she was going to the snow. Seriously, I asked her as we were leaving (sarcastically of course) when it was going to start snowing. We almost turned back at one point because it got so freezing. Let's just say that Sandy was very lucky today when he got his walk. So from this experience, and to keep myself a little warmer while sitting in front of the fire typing this, I have come up with a few things that are good to do on freezing cold days, or at least things I like to do.

The first thing I am going to say is something I am doing right now. That is, obviously (if you read the above paragraph), sitting in front of the fireplace. It is just so nice to be able to sit with your back to it and just feel the heat hitting your body. It really makes you comfortable and sometimes it is just nice to turn around and watch the logs burn. Then there is probably what I will do later which is drink hot chocolate while wrapped in a blanket watching Under the Dome. Of course, what you actually watch or even do does not matter but the best part is just drinking something warm while relaxing in a blanket. Sometimes I am so grateful that I do not live in Canada or somewhere where it gets into the negative degrees. Another popular thing I find warming during these enduring Winter months is lying in bed curled up in blankets and reading a book. Of course you could do whatever you want while in bed (such as watching television or playing a game) but it is just nice to lie in bed and relax while also trying to keep warm. Again, I am so grateful that I do not live in countries where the Winters are freezing and the Summers are not much better. So those are a few of the things I enjoy doing when it is freezing. As always, if you have any you want to share just comment below, use the contact form to the right or email me directly at legolukeytutorials@gmail.com and I will reply.

Don't let the Winter months freeze your hopes, see you tomorrow.
