Blog Update

So I've decided with this blog that I will no longer post updates regularly but rather whenever I feel like posting about something. I have decided this for a few reasons. First because I do not have the time anymore to keep daily posts on this blog (hence the extended hiatus) and secondly so I can deliver quality posts to you goes. What I noticed when I was doing daily writing is that my posts became kind of strained and not very good quality because I did not really have a topic that I particularly cared about. At least this way I can post about something when it comes to my head or write it down for later.

Stay tuned for my next post "Don't be a Phoney" which will be released shortly. See you then

The New Look Daily Lukey

Welcome to the new look Daily Lukey! It thought it was about time that I changed the design of this blog so I decided that in the new year I would release the new look Daily Lukey. I really hope that you enjoy the new layout and below you will find a guide to where everything is!

This is the home page that you will be greeted with as you arrive at my blog. As you can see, there is a drop down menu at the top right of this page. You can access this drop-down menu by moving your mouse over the area. This allows you to choose some different ways of viewing the blog. Each of them is interesting in their own right and I suggest you have a play around to find the setting you have always wanted but never knew existed. Some of them also make it easier to find old posts that you can not remember the title of (making it hard to look up in the archives). However, in the top right corner you will also find a search box. Simply click on the box and type in what you want to search. Then touch 'enter' on the keyboard and away you go! You will also find all the old links to places like Facebook, Instagram and Xavier's Blog on the top bar as well, just next to the drop-down menu. If you look over to the middle-top-right part of the picture you will also see a black rectangle hovering on the side of the page. Simply highlight your cursor over any part of it and any of the following will appear;

This top button allows you to "+1" this blog on Google Plus

The next button allows you to view the top ten most-viewed posts on Daily Lukey

This allows you to watch YouTube videos without needing to leave my blog

This allows you to choose a language to translate the blog into. This way you can share a post in any language!

This allows you to access the blog archive

For all of these, all you need to do is click on the icon and you can access its feature.

You will also notice the new feature which allows you to "like" and "tweet" out your post at the click of a button! The "+1" feature to share on Google Plus is also still available as you can see. To add a comment, simply highlight your cursor over the bottom of the post and the "add a comment" section will appear. Just click on that and type in your comment!

Take some time to explore the new look Daily Lukey. See you tomorrow!

Do You Remember When?

So it is pretty late right now as I only just got home from being out with the family. On the way home I was watching YouTube and reminiscing about things in the past that people born more recently would have no idea about. I was also trying to find a quick post to write as I am very tired and my thinking processes at the moment are not what they once were.

Do you remember when Sabrina used to be on television? It still is now but it has lost its popularity and they are all reruns.

Do you remember Daria, the animated MTV television show? I have the DVD at home and whenever I watch it I keep thinking back to when I was younger and I would watch it on ABC. At least I think it was ABC, I do not really know.

Do you remember when Fireman Sam used to be made using stop-motion animation and not this fancy 3D stuff they use now? I used to love watching Fireman Sam.

Do you remember when " 'sup?" used to be something cool? Neither can I.

Do you remember when chips used to come in those clear plastic bags within the bigger bag and you used to get more value for money?

Do you remember in Primary School how you would think the smaller year-levels were shrinking when really you were growing? This sadly took me a while to work out.

Do you remember when movies used to say "3D in select cinemas" instead of the current "2D in select cinemas"? I can still remember when going to see a 3D movie was one of the coolest things you could do.

Do you remember a time when there were no smartphones and flip-phones were the latest craze?

Do you remember Gameboy Colour and Gameboy Advance? I still have mine actually and the games still work.

Do you remember how everyone's DS Lites used to break really quickly? Why was mine the only one that never broke? Did I keep good care of it or something?

Do you remember when this Blog finished in a meaningful way? I sometimes believe I can but then I wake up. See you tomorrow!

Getting Distracted

Have you ever started something, gotten distracted and realised hours later that you still have not done what you were originally meant to do? Yeah, story of my life. It happens to me all the time and so today I am going to discuss some of the times this has happened to me through examples. I know I did a post on distractions back in May but that was more about studying as I wrote it around the Semester 1 exams. This one is going to be different so you may see something familiar but overall it is different. So yeah, do not say I write the same stuff over and over again. Even my YouTube Subscriptions and Politics Series were different in that each post contained something different. If you have not read either of these two series then I am not fussed but if you look in the archives down there on your right (it is so hard to point through words) Politics will be under August and September while YouTube Subscriptions will be under June.

So when you try to start an assignment you sit down and open your books to start writing (if the assignment is to be done by hand). However, within a short period of time you tell yourself to go get a drink, it's good to keep hydrated, you are a good student. On your way to get a drink you hear the television and stop to look at what is on. BAM, YOU ARE DISTRACTED! Suddenly you have to go to bed and you have not even begun when it is due the very next day.

You are screwed. When you try to start your assignment and you open your laptop because you need to submit it electronically. You then open up your Internet browser to do some research. Ten minutes later you give yourself a little break. Every student needs a break to maintain their attention and health, you are a good student. You spend your break on Facebook and YouTube and BAM, YOU ARE DISTRACTED! Suddenly you have to go to bed and you have not even begun when it is due the very next day.

When you are studying for a test and you can not remember something and can not find any reference to it in any of your books. You decide you will text your friends to see if they can help you. However, you receive no response so you turn to Facebook and message them. However, on your way to message them you come by your news feed and BAM, YOU ARE LIVING YOUR LIFE THROUGH OTHER PEOPLE, YOU ARE DISTRACTED! Suddenly you have to go to bed and you have not even begun when it is due the very next day.

When you are meant to be practicing for a music exam or performance and you have just arrived home from school. You allow yourself a short break because you know you need a rest from music. You turn to the music on your phone and YouTube. BAM, SUDDENLY YOU ARE IN THE DARK EDGE OF YOUTUBE WITH NO HOPE OF ESCAPE, YOU ARE DISTRACTED! Suddenly you have to go to bed and you have not even begun when it is due the very next day.

When you are supposed to be writing a blog post and you turn to news.com for inspiration and find nothing. You decide to turn to Facebook to find something to vent your frustrations on. BAM, YOU FIND YOURSELF ABSORBED IN THE DEPRESSING READING OF FACEBOOK STATUSES, YOU ARE DISTRACTED (and possibly questioning your will to live)! Suddenly you have to go to bed and you have not even begun when it is due the very next day.

I hope these experiences did something for you as they did nothing for me, what is the point of this post? See you tomorrow!

No Politics Today

So today I decided I would give you all a break from the 'boring' world of politics as it is often referred to as being. Of course, as I may have demonstrated through some of the political parties Australia has to offer, this is not true for all of politics. Such an assumption would be absurd and tantamount to stereotyping. Actually, it is stereotyping. Not all Politics is boring obviously political parties like the Australian Sex Party and the Coke and Bubblers Party contradict this statement. Also, have you seen parliament? It is like a court-room drama with one side fighting against the other and constant bickering. You may have realised that today's post is only a short one and that is, of course, because Thursday nights are a bit of a busy time for me and sometimes I am able to pre-write long posts and times where I have tests and essays coming up I do not have time to do all this. You guys are actually pretty lucky I still manage to reach my daily post quota at times. So yeah, I thought I would give you all a break from Politics today (see that 'smooth' transition back on topic) and so the series will continue in two days and I am pretty sure we are already past half-way through the parties so there should really only be two or three more. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your week, it's Friday tomorrow!

Can't wait for Friday, see you tomorrow!

#BloggerProblems

As this is the 152nd post on this blog (I know, can you believe it?) I have encountered a number of recurring issues regarding daily blogging. I guessed that today was about time I shared some of these. Before I continue I just have to say that what I am writing about is not from just recently and some have been problems since the very beginning. So do not fall under the impression that daily blogging is easy. At times it can seem so, even to the blogger, but it is only afterwards that you realise how much time you spend each night just writing a post. Let alone finding inspiration, thinking about what you are going to write and sharing it out via Twitter and Facebook. So let's get started with Blogger Problems!

The first major blogger problem is finding inspiration. I know I say this a lot but good inspiration is sometimes not so easy to find. Sometimes I write posts about events that took place a long time before I actually posted about it. Often if I have something to write about and come across some more inspiration then I will save that extra inspiration for a time where I have none. For instance, at the moment I have a number of post ideas ready to go should the need arise. This comes especially handy when I need to schedule posts if I am going to be absent but still, it is so hard when I have a long spell of a boring life. This boring life of mine does ruin my blog-writing from time to time. Repetition is also a big problem with Blogging. You know that post I wrote earlier this week about Repetition? I wrote the whole introduction for that post about competition. Then I realised that I had already written a post about competition so I continued the post as if I had already known that. Yeah, if you did not pick that up then well I have nothing to say to you because it was a really bad cover up, even for me. Another blogger issue is time constraints. I am going to let you in on a little secret that everyone should know by now. The posts that come out late at night without any pictures and much context are done on my phone. This is mainly because during the day I am too busy with homework and all the other stuff I have going on so yeah, that is a big issue for many bloggers.

Life as a blogger is not always an easy one, see you tomorrow!

Inspiration

It can be really hard to find inspiration for these posts sometimes. You may have noticed that a lot of the time I refer to social media like Facebook or Twitter. This is because I sometimes scroll through my Twitter feed and Facebook News Feed to find something to write about. In this way, Social Media is a great resource for this blog (also helps me get it out there). So sometimes I scroll through and I might see someone say something that annoys me because everyone else says it or it is stupid. From here I think of a way I could write a post about it. If I think of something I start but if I can not I just keep scrolling. So you see finding inspiration for these posts is a little harder than you may think (especially since this is the 134th post on this blog and I do not double-up on topics (excluding Daily Updates, Random Questions, or Posts that come in parts). Scrolling through my news feed just over a month ago I found an inspirational picture of a blind guy I was always trying to insert somewhere but I just never really found a place for it, until now. So, before I continue be sure to read the picture below (yes, I said read).

It is just a really inspirational interview (I think that is what is happening) that makes you reflect on human nature and the way we judge other people. Here we have a blind person who looks on the bright-side of life and sees the best in people as he can not see them for what they actually are. He can not judge a book by its cover as he can not see the book to begin with. Despite how hard it must be to have no sight in both eyes (I was just trying to stretch out the term 'Blind') he does not let this stop him from enjoying life. It is just one of the inspirational posts I wanted to write about but, until now, never had the chance. This picture is inspirational for all the right reasons for once which is a good thing and is actually pretty exciting to still be able to write posts that restore our faith in humanity rather than focusing on the negatives because, as a society, we see what is bad and rarely what is good. I do enjoy writing these posts from a positive source as it means I get to focus on the positive side of the world rather than the negative. So inspiration is hard to find but once it is found it is quite the topic to write about.

He may be blind but he sees better than most, see you tomorrow!

Ouch

Well there are just so many things in our lives that make us go "ouch". Sometimes this is actual physical pain (or as some people call it "ouchie") and other times it is just mental. Some times all we want to do when we witness something is cringe. Is it just me or does this happen all too often? So today I am compiling a list of some of the things that make me go "ouch". To start things off I am going to say writing these introductions. They are so painful but also very necessary. Without them you would have no idea why I am listing such random things until right at the end if at all. Then there is the body that follows this introduction that can sometimes be just as bad when I look back because I was caught up in the 'emotion' of writing. Yeah, even I can not believe I just wrote that (#nojudge).

Then there is the reason behind this post which happens to me nearly every Friday night during the school term. Of course, I am talking about the constant falling-on-your-backside Jujitsu. Especially now I am purple belt training for my black-white belt it is so much more as I am teaching some of the younger grades every now and again. So, as I write this, I am trying not to put pressure on my backside because it aches so much. Anyway, no gain without some pain. Then there is the things I see some people post on Facebook. It actually makes me cringe sometimes the problems that people have. I mean, if you have a problem about someone do not make an overarching status and leave everybody questioning in the comments and then say "Oh, I don't want to talk about it". I was talking about frustrations yesterday and I suppose that this one sort of goes over into both posts. Even watching Sandy can cause me some pain sometimes. Literally in the sense that he trips me over and figuratively in the way of watching what he does. Sometimes he even walks into letter boxes which is more embarrassing for me rather than hurting for Sandy. It hurts even more when he begins to park at the inanimate object that is a letter box. People really do stare at you and all Sandy can care about is getting back at the letter box that hit him. He also has a habit of barking at this house's Christmas decorations every year. It is something about the inflatable Santa on the see-saw that he just does not like. So, as you can see, there is so much that causes me pain and just really makes me go "ouch" in more ways than one.

Don't let the embarrassing times ruin your proudest ones, see you tomorrow!

Twitter

Can I just comment on how much Twitter has progressed over the years? Well, obviously since this is my blog I can write what I want within the bounds of common decency so ignore that question and this sentence. What I am trying to say is that Twitter is quickly becoming the new Facebook in terms of silly status updates, or 'tweets' as the twitter people say. No longer are people going to Facebook to write short, meaningless posts about nothing. Now they all flock to Twitter where they can hash-tag (#) and @ people as much as they want. Obviously even Facebook have noticed as they have added the new hash-tag feature. Basically, for all of you who do not know, Facebook updated with a new feature of using hash-tags like they do on Twitter. So you can see I am not just making up random opinions and events like yesterday.

I mean I go on Twitter every so often on the iPad and when I share my posts on Twitter I always do a quick scroll through my feed. I generally come across a number of tweets that just make me want to ask "why?" Why would someone tweet something as ordinary as "gotta buy some milk" or "in traffic". Of course, there are the users who tweet links to charities, causes or blogs (the latter including me) among other things that I do not really care about but it is nice to know people are more than just superficial. The worst part is that we, as a society, eat into that sort of stuff. I mean a tweet I saw that literally said "need some more milk #notetoself" had more favorites and re-tweets (who would re-tweet that?) than a post about a cause/charity which was right below it. Even yesterday our Prime Minister (of Australia if your new or not local) Kevin Rudd (@KRuddMP) tweeted a picture of himself after he cut himself shaving. First of all, this somehow made every news bulletin that day (even when I was at the dentist I saw it on the Television). I know, our Prime Minister cutting himself shaving is a hard-hitting news story but did it really need that much attention? Second of all, and following on from before, my Mum since told me "Oh, you Rudd yourself. Be careful" After I cut myself shaving because Dad freaked me out (thanks a lot). At first I was a little shocked that our Prime Minister's name had already become a verb (for cutting yourself shaving no less) after one day and one tweet. Do you see what I mean now? Before Twitter this would have happened on Facebook but since Twitter is the new Facebook (in some respects) this has become a growing concern.

Be careful what you tweet or it might come back to haunt you, see you tomorrow!

Top 5 Most Successful YouTubers

You all know how much I love YouTube so in today's post I would like to compile a list of the top five most successful YouTubers in terms of subscribers. I hope you can learn to embrace them in the same way as millions of people all around the world.

1. Smosh

With 11,032,350 subscribers it is no wonder that these two comedic YouTubers have the most subscribed channel. The comedic duo consists of Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla who began the channel in 2005. Smosh are known for their comedic videos but have also created gaming channels, Spanish channels and animation/cartoon channels which have some pretty cool videos. Smosh upload a new video every Friday and you never know what they are going to come up with next. As with all the following YouTubers I highly recommend you check out their videos and subscribe to them while you are there because they really are one-of-a-kind on a site where there are so many similar styled videos.

2. PewDiePie

This Swedish YouTuber with 9,911,844 subscribers is a hilarious video-game commentator who creates some pretty out-there videos. On a site where "out-there" is greatly embraced it is no wonder that he has become such an internet sensation. His channel was only created in 2009 so it is amazing how fast he has risen in the YouTube hierarchy. In May of 2013 PewDiePie was awarded the Most Popular Social Show in the inaugural Starcount Social Stars Awards in Singapore. If you are into comedy, games and fun then you really should check out his channel.

3. Jenna Marbles

9,766,233 Subscribers do not lie when they say that Jenna Marbles is one of the best YouTubers around. Jenna Marbles uploads a new video every Wednesday and also writes a blog about different thoughts that go through her mind. Often her videos are a little "out-there" but so are all of the popular YouTube sensations. If you like someone who says what they think than Jenna Marbles is the YouTuber/Blogger for you.

4. Ray William Johnson

Ray William Johnson is the American video blogger, producer and actor who is  best known for his Equals Three (=3) series in which he provides hilarious commentary on viral videos. It is no wonder that this man has become the fourth most subscribed channel with 9,539,823 and has recently made the announcement to upload more equals three videos every week, an announcement that could move him up the YouTube hierarchy. In May of this year he signed a deal to produce a sitcom for the American Television Network FX which just goes to show how YouTube really can change your life as well as help it move beyond your wildest dreams.

5. NigaHiga

The fifth but far from least YouTuber on this list has earned his spot through hard work, dedication and comedy that appears natural. 9,151,836 Subscribers will attest to this and show you how hilarious and funny NigaHiga is. NigaHiga was created in July of 2006 and has since grown into a comedic icon. HigaTV is another of Ryan Higa's YouTube channels which contains vlogs and behind-the-scenes videos of the making of many of his weekly videos. NigaHiga's community has grown immensely over the previous years and it would not be hard to envision him moving further up these rankings in the coming years.

All of the above YouTubers are worthy of their rankings and have worked hard and show pure talent to become as popular as they are. I strongly recommend you check out all of their videos and if you like what you see then do subscribe and maybe you could help bring their rankings up.

25 Random Questions Tag

So today I found these 25 random questions which is a tag or something. I found these questions here and so in today's post I am going to answer them. If you want to ask me a question then click on the link to the right that says Ask me Questions and it will link you to my Qooh.me account where you can anonymously ask me questions (you do not need an account). These questions will only show up if I reply to them and I promise to reply to all the appropriate questions. Enjoy and do not be afraid to ask!

1) Do you have any pets?
Yes I have a dog, called Sandy, and two chickens which we keep in a chicken enclosure in the backyard. I don't actually think they have names except one which I think is called Daisy which we got off some friends of my mother.

2) Name three things that are physically close to you.
Let's have a look. There's my laptop, my Samsung Galaxy Ace Phone [just wanted to be exact] and a pillow. I am comfy so don't judge about the pillow!

3) What's the weather like right now?
Well, as it's Winter in Australia at the moment it is actually pretty cold for once. Although, knowing Melbourne's weather it will probably be something entirely different by the time I go to bed. Thank the lord we have a fire place to warm us up.

4) Do you drive? If so, have you crashed?
Well I only got my Learners Permit on May 10 (I aced the test by the way [100%]) and so have only just begun to learn how to drive. I have not had any accidents whatsoever so fingers crossed I do not have one any time soon.

5) What time did you wake up this morning?
I woke up at 7 am and practiced my Piano for thirty minutes before getting ready for school. When I say 7 am I actually mean 7:10 am by the time I actually get out of bed.

6) When was the last time you showered?
Weird question but just over an hour ago actually. Moving on...

7) What was the last movie that I saw?
Great, now I have to use my horrible memory. Let's think... the last one I can remember seeing was Iron Man 3 with my friends for my Birthday but I have probably watched a movie since then. Nope, can't think of anything. See how bad my memory is.

8) What does your last message say?
My last text message reads "I told u last night!!!!!" which was me getting angry at my Dad because he forgot what time I finished after String Ensemble tonight after school. Yeah, that really shows my social life. My last message is to my father, great.

9) What is your ringtone?
I am actually not sure, wait a second and I'll call myself. Yeah, this is going to sound bad. It is actually Lady Gaga's Edge of Glory. It is not as bad as some people. A friend in my class has My Heart Will Go On as his ring tone and someone rang him during class and it really was a funny time. Wow, we have some good times in our class.

10) Have you ever been to a different country?
I have only ever left the country once and that was to go to America at the end of 2009 and the start of 2010. It was really cool and we went to Anaheim, California and Orlando, Florida. It was a really great experience (except for the plane rides, 17 hours one way is too much [thank the lord I was not going to Europe (24 damn hours on a plane)]).

11) Do you like Sushi?
Short question calls for a short answer. No.

12) Where do you buy your groceries?
Depends on where the specials are. Sometimes we get things at Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, IGA or even NQR. It all depends on what we need and if there are any specials. These questions are starting to sound very stalker-y (yeah, I made up a word).

13) Have you ever taken medication to help you sleep faster?
Yeah, I am always popping them pills to help me sleep. No, I do not actually. Although I wish I did because then I would not have to try to fall asleep through all the noise my brothers make.

14) How many siblings do you have?
I have two older brothers, Matthew and Joshua. Matthew is 22 and Joshua is turning 18 in November.

15) Do you have a desktop computer or a laptop?
We have two desktop computers and I have a school laptop which I use. I am probably going to ask for a laptop this Christmas as I can only use the school laptop throughout the school year and have to give it back at the end of each year. This means no laptop over the Summer holidays (cue rain and On my Own music).

16) How old will you be turning on your next birthday?
Next May I will be turning 17, wow, that sounds weird.

17) Do you wear contacts or glasses?
I wear glasses because we cannot all have perfect vision. I wish I did have perfect vision though. I do not think I will ever use contacts because I just can not bear to put any fingers near my eyes. It just really freaks me out because I think I am going to poke it. Glasses for the win!

18) Do you colour your hair?
No, I do not colour my hair. That was a very interesting answer.

19) Tell me something you are planning to do today?
Okay, now this just sounds like a stalker. But I guess since it's a question. Well, it is already 7:30 pm and so there is not a lot of time left before I go to bed but my plans for the rest of the night are: finish this post, study for Maths Methods and watch tonight's episode of Revenge.

20) When was the last time you cried?
Just two seconds ago when I read some of these answers. I should re-title this post the tragic life of a Lukey. Seriously though, I do not remember the last time I cried, probably when I watched the Catching Fire teaser trailer when it came out. I mean, President Snow just wanted to be like, why can't anyone see that? Why?

21) What is your perfect pizza topping?
This is going to sound bland but I prefer just pineapple, ham and cheese on my pizza. Hawaiian all the way!

22) Which do you prefer, hamburger or cheeseburger?
I am not actually sure but I think it would probably be the cheeseburger because I like cheese. Just saying, I like cheese and would probably therefore prefer a cheeseburger over a hamburger.

23) Have you ever had an all-nighter?
I have had one all-nighter in my 16 years of life and that was when I stayed over at a friend's house when I was 12. So you see I live the life, going to bed at a reasonable hour, totally rebel.

24) What is your eye colour?
I think my eye colour is hazel, emphasis on I think.

25) Can you taste the difference between Pepsi and Coke?
I do not actually drink any of those full-sugar soft drinks but I have heard that Pepsi is supposed to be sweeter. I do know that Pepsi Max is a whole lot stronger than Diet Coke and Coke Zero. But Pepsi Max is actually a pretty strong drink.

Well, that is all for today and if you read through all the way to here then good for you. If you want to answer some of these questions in the comments or on your own blog or Facebook or whatever then feel free to do so. Just to reiterate you can ask me anonymous questions via the link on the right that says Ask me Questions. I will read them and reply to all the appropriate ones. Do not be afraid to ask!

May the odds be ever in your favour, see you tomorrow!

50 Posts

If you didn't know this is the 50th Post on this blog and so today I just wanted to look back on some of my old posts as well as share some statistics along the way. This blog started on the 24th March 2013 (Sunday) and the first post was an introduction. I never expected my Blog to get this many views already and as I went to get the link for the first post I became the 1500th view. This is pretty cool because I expected I would get pretty low views around the teens if I was lucky and that it would take me 6 months before I could even think about making 1500 views. It only actually took until the 3rd of May when I hit 1000 views. This was just over a month since I started and I couldn't believe it. So today's post is for all my readers and thank you so much for coming back.

When I first started this blog I was lucky to get 10 views a day but now I get an average of 45 (talk about a rise). The highest amount of views I ever got in one day was 74 and that was also the day that I got over the 1000 views mark. The good thing about my views is that I never get below 40 a day anymore which is quite an achievement and which also means that I must get some people who read my blog regularly (not necessarily daily) and to those people I say thank you. If it wasn't for this I don't know how long I could have stayed motivated to write daily posts. I did miss a few days at the start of April because I was away but now I have mastered the scheduling tool which means that if I am busy or unable to write a post on a certain day I can write one in advance and schedule it for release on that day. I have done this numerous times recently and it really does help me keep this Daily Blog Daily.

Sometimes I wonder how I manage to keep writing my daily posts sometimes when my workload gets very high (which it does). Some of my friends have even asked me this question. The truth is I don't actually know how I manage it. I made a commitment when I made this blog that I would write regularly in it and I've tried to stick to this commitment as much as I can. By now it has become just a part of my daily routine. Get home from school, do homework, have dinner, finish homework, write blog post, relax, get ready for bed, go to sleep. It just seems normal to me now that I don't really think about it as a chore, I just sort of thing about as something I have to do every night and find time for it. I don't even know how I come up with some of these topics I discuss. It generally comes from something that happened during the day. For instance, yesterday I discussed books because in the morning we had an author (Michael Pryor) come in to talk to us at Assembly. Sometimes I don't even think about what I'm going to write until I start and then it takes a few goes to find a topic I can actually make a post about. Sometimes I write a few introductions before I find the topic I am going to discuss. So I don't know how I keep up this blog, but I do and that is partly due to the motivation my viewers provide (in the form of views).

That's all for today and I really want to thank you all for viewing my blog and reading my posts. It really does mean a lot to me, especially when someone comments. I really enjoy that interaction with the readers.

For the 50th time: May the odds be ever in your favour, see you tomorrow!

Scheduling

Hey guys, just a quick update to tell you all that I have discovered the wonders of scheduling posts on Blogger! Yay! This means that I won't have any excuse not to post on a certain day because I can write a post before hand and then schedule it to come out on the day I won't be able to post. Of course, this also means that you guys will know I have gotten lazy if a post does not appear. However, this may also be to some unexpected circumstance (i.e. Family Illness) that prevented me from posting on that day.

Is it bad that I wanted to write "Y'all" above? I've been watching too many Americans on YouTube, especially Ellen (Degeneres) she always says "Y'all". Anwyay, aside from the "Y'all"s I just wanted to say that I had discovered the wonders that scheduling brings. So, you may have realised if you "liked" my page on Facebook or are a friend of my personal Facebook account that a recent post about Google Plus which I scheduled to be released. Here is a photo below of what it looked like in my Posts section of my Blogger Acount for Daily Lukey, sorry for the bad quality, it's a screen snapshot using the Snipper Tool.

The only problem with scheduling is it uses a different Time Zone but it tells you what time it thinks it is currently so from there I work out the time and date I want it released. So yeah, now I can use the scheduling feature of the Blogger and there will be less days I will miss out on, yay!

May the odds be ever in your favour, goodbye!

Essays, Tests, Assignments and Revenge

SO MUCH WORK! The thought on most of my classmates minds this week. It is a busy week, even though it is the last of Term 1. Today (Monday) we had to write a Text Response Essay on Bali Rai's "City of Ghosts" which was simple enough, quite an easy way to start the week.

So luckily there was only a quiet start to the week. However, we have a Science Assignment due on Wednesday, a Unit 1 Maths Methods SAC on Matrices on Thursday, a Linear Algebra normal Maths test also on Thursday and a Health and Physical Education Nutrition Assignment due on Thursday. So there really is a lot of stuff going on this week which should hopefully finish in quiet holidays as we won't have a class to start anything new! Here's hoping. Anyway, I understand why they give us all this stuff and why it is due before the holidays and all the rest but I just think it is a bit annoying that we can't enjoy the last week of Term 1 instead of working so hard! Anyway, there are 3 more terms so here's hoping they are quieter, though they most likely won't be.

Also, is it just me or is REVENGE amazingly addictive? I am just so addicted to it and I have been so since the first episode was aired in Australia last year. Now in its second season I can't believe how addicting and intriguing it still is. The writers are amazing because there are so many layers and foreshadowing. Not to mention all the TWISTS AND TURNS! If you don't know what Revenge is, who are you? Research it immediately! Tonight's episode is a new one (well to Australia anyway) in Season 2 where Victoria Grayson's Mother comes to town, things are bound to get interesting! CAN'T WAIT! I love Revenge! The actors and writers are so good and you should really check it out!

May the odds be ever in your favour, see you tomorrow!

Introductions

So hello there to my new blog! In this blog I will be posting as daily as I can (hence the name Daily Lukey) about things that are going on in my life. As you can see from the above title today's post is about Introductions! Well, here I go.

So my name is Luke and I am 15 years old (turning 16 in May) living in Victoria, Australia. I have a Youtube Channel at http://www.youtube.com/user/legolukey which is just a hobby but isn't very popular as I don't upload very often. I only have around 34 videos and just 24 Subscribers and just over 4,100 views but I don't care, I do it because I can rather than for popularity.

I can be obsessed, which my friends would readily attest to. I am mostly obsessed with the Hunger Games (so come November 22nd [Catching Fire Release Date] you might get a bit sick of me) as well as an online Language program called LanguagePerfect.

If you couldn't tell already, I am pretty Studious and go to a Select Entry School. I do well in School and I actually enjoy it (no hate). I also have a dog named Sandy who is a spoodle and is a little empty-headed at times which lead to a lot of funny antics and actions. When it comes to it though Sandy is actually a bit of a sook but always there to cheer you up. Here he is at our Holiday House at Phillip Island. Usually he's outside all day and comes in at night but when he's at Phillip Island he gets to stay inside with us most of the time so he loves Philllip Island! The second picture makes him out as a bit of a glutton but he isn't actually fat, it is just his thick hair that makes him look like a teddy bear. When he gets a hair cut he comes back looking entirely different. Oh, did I mention he has separation anxiety which is getting better as he used to be inside at home with Mum all the time but we eventually weened him off this by leaving him outside (a very loud transition, he can cry!). It wouldn't have been so bad if Mum hand't taken time off work for the first month to look after him.

Anyway, that's enough about Sandy! I guess there isn't much else I really want to talk about for Introductions so that is it for today and I hope there are many more like this!

May the Odds be Ever in Your Favour, see you tomorrow!
