Creepy Driving

Tonight I went driving again and it was another very creepy experience. Aside from the impenetrable darkness, there were a lot of weird noises and things coming out of the dark and reflecting off in the distance. It did not really help that we were the only ones on the road and were, occasionally, on dirt roads in the middle of the road. It was a bad time to be walking around in a black and white suit. I am not the bravest of people so at least I remained alert.

I am sorry for another short post but I had a surprisingly busy day. See you tomorrow!

Another Apology and Disclaimer

Before we continue I just want to address the lack of post yesterday. This was not supposed to be the case as I had scheduled a post to be released but for whatever reason it did not post. However, due to some computer troubles (i.e. The computer not working) I was unable to go on Blogger and see what was going on. I am very sorry for this but there is nothing I can do as you can not manage things like scheduling on the phone application (which is very basic by the way). However, when I went on the application to write this post the post from yesterday did not show up which makes me think it was somehow deleted which is very annoying. Again, I am sorry. The disclaimer is that until we fix the computer there will be no long posts as they will all need to be written and posted on my phone.

I am very sorry for all this. See you tomorrow!

Merry Christmas... Still Short

I am so sorry for having to post all these short pieces but Mum is on the computer all day working on her year in review video that always takes a lot longer than it should. This means having to write posts using the Blogger application on my phone which can be very annoying. For one thing it does not let me format pictures which means they never look right and because it is on my phone it takes a lot longer to type out, seriously. It also is harder to gauge how much I have actually written because you can not show as much on your phone. At least I can go to sleep now though because I am really tired after the firecall I had to go to at midnight last night. Plus I have to get up early tomorrow for the CFA as well to help Weribee Zoo test their evacuation plan. At least it could be somewhat fun.

Anyway, sorry again for these short late posts. See you tomorrow.

A Productive Day but a Short Post

Today was actually a really good day and despite going out with friends for most of the day I still got a lot done. Let us start at the beginning. I had to be at Footscray station by 10:30 to meet up with friends so I caught the 9:50 train from Werribee which was set to get me there with time to spare. However, as the train arrived at Newport they made everyone get off because the train was defective. This meant waiting a few minutes to get a replacement train so I only managed to get to Footscray just on time, if not a little late. After this we went to get Pho (vietnamese noodle soup) and I embarrassed myself with chopsticks, then spoons (yes, plural) before my amazing friend had enough entertainment and went to get me a fork. After this we rushed into Melbourne Central to see Catching Fire in Hoyts Xtreme Screen. Luckily we prebooked tickets so we had the best seats. After the movie we walked around a bit before going our separate ways. This is when I went christmas shopping and bought everything I needed for my family.

All in all, it was a great and productive day. See you tomorrow!

A Late Disclaimer

Sorry for another late post but an unexpected event arose that I spent the majority of the night preparing for. I am sorry guys. Tomorrow night will also have to be a short one as I leave home at 7am in the morning and will not get home until late. Partly this is due to my School's Speech Night but it is mostly because of something I will most likely talk about in tomorrow's post.

Sorry again, see you tomorrow.

I Can See the Finish Line

Just to clear things up. I am not writing this post on my phone as I am about to complete a fun run or something. Anyway, sorry for another short post guys but tomorrow I have my Science and Health and Physical Education exam and once those two are done I have no more exams! Hooray! The end is in sight. However, these two subjects are all theory (except for some of the chemistry stuff in Science) so there is a lot of studying going into these last two exams (as there was for my other exams). I know that once I finish it though I am going to go home and relax. Just relaxing for the first time in weeks would be nice. I will probably watch Fringe. At least there is no school on Friday so I have plenty of time to catch up on some sleep over this three day week-end which includes the 50th Anniversary Special of Doctor Who. At 6:50 am this Sunday you all know where and what I will be doing. That is right: watching The Day of the Doctor on ABC! So exciting!!!

I can finally see the end of exams, see you tomorrow!

Pre-Exam People

As you probably know, this week is my exam week at school. As such, long posts like these are not going to be as frequent due to the time I need for studying. So do not be surprised if you see another short post either on Tuesday or Wednesday (Thursday is my last day of exams). Today, however, was my first exam and it was for VCE Maths Methods Unit 2. Needless to say, I have been studying very hard for this subject (and my other ones as well) over the past few weeks and so am very pleased to finally have this exam over with. However, right before the exam during the last-minute studying time I noticed a few different types of people that appeared prominently all around me. These types occur every time there is an exam and so in this post I am going to walk you through these different types of people.

The first type of people you see are the focused study-ers. These are the people who you see just sitting quietly going through review questions or re-reading notes or sections of the text books. They are generally calm and not overly stressed about the exam. However, they are at the right level of stress to motivate study while not allowing it to overcome them. The next group of people are the late-night study-ers. You can generally tell who these people are by the way they are seated at a table. If they are lying across the table with their head in their arms then you know that they are sleeping. They generally have a higher-than-average level of stress as they were silly enough to stay up late the night before without thinking about getting enough sleep. The next group of people are the over-thinkers. These are the people who get hung up over one question that they did not understand. Their stress levels are very high and so they take everything out of proportion. They are generally the people who look worried, are rushing around or appear to be playing a game of twenty questions where the questions just never stop. Other people fall under the category of nervous wrecks. These are the people who have prepared for so long that when the day finally arrives the stress and pressure has built up. Sometimes though, this same type of person may not have studied for that long. Maybe they only studied for a little while and it is only right before the exam that they realise the mistake they made in doing this. This group of people display very similar symptoms to those of the "over-thinking" group. Finally, you have the socialisers. These are the students who do not seem to care about the exam and are only worried about catching up with their friends. Friends who are busy studying and not wanting to be distracted. These are the people who make you wonder if they even realise they are about to sit an exam. Their stress levels are very low and while this can be a good thing, it is always good to be mindful of others. Just because you are sure of yourself and what is going to be on the exam, others may not be.

There are quite the number of different groups out there, see you tomorrow!

Another Busy Study Day

So again, I am sorry for writing another one of these late posts but when you have to study you have to study. Before I continue on this post, I just want to say that I do see Study as important and that no study is a very bad thing. Especially around exam time, study is important. However, it is important not to wake up, go to school, come home and then study all night. Somewhere in that schedule there needs to be a break for relaxation. For me, I try not to start studying straight away unless I have something after school like CFA or my Leaders of the Future Program. This way I am still getting a break from study. This generally means that I relax or do some training for Kokoda after school. This break is very important. Then I do study or homework. Of course, you should be taking regular breaks while studying as always but at the end before you go to bed give yourself at least thirty minutes of relaxation. This will make you a healthier person overall both physically and mentally.

It is getting late though and I need my break, see you tomorrow!

Busy Study Day

So sorry guys but tonight I was caught up studying and so this is another picture-less late-night post written on my phone. I hate when this happens but it will probably begin to happen a lot more until next Thursday. This is, as some of you will know, because of my school exams. I have VCE Maths Methods on Monday which is going to make me study really hard until the day and then my other subjects on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I want to apologise in advance for more posts like these due to my study habits. In the coming days I am going to write a few more posts about studying and how to do it effectively so stay tuned for those because I know how popular they were last Semester. They will include some new things as well as some rehashing of the old yet great stuff.

So stay tuned because exam week is coming up both on this blog and in my life. See you tomorrow!

Random Thought Friday: Saturday Again!

You can tell there is a problem with the "Random Thought Friday" name when there are the same number of these posts written on a Saturday as there are on a Friday. I may as well just take out the "Fri" and replace it with something else like "Sat" or "Any". Seriously though, it is becoming an issue. It just that every Friday there seems to be some reason why I am not home enough to write these. In itself, that is weird considering I can stay up later than normal as there is no school the next day. Though I do have Piano in the morning and now with the Leaders of the Future Program I generally have something on Sunday mornings as well so basically I get no sleep in and have to go to bed early to get enough sleep to get me through the week. Wow, I am really starting off this random thought post straight away. Anyway, the next few weeks are going to be a pain mainly due to exams. However, as the exams are later than usual I can sleep in and since my brother does not go to school anymore (as he is doing VCE and their exams finish next Friday) I do not have to get up early to go with him. People do say that every cloud has its silver lining. Anyway, moving on to more random thoughts. This is a really long introduction.

You want to know what is really annoying? Well, as well as all the other stuff I complain about on this blog. Why do I even ask these rhetorical questions when it is not as if I have two alternate posts with a link for each answer. Hey, I should totally do that. It could be a sort of "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" post except it is not really an adventure but merely an interactive post. Anyway, back to being annoyed. What I was saying before my random thoughts got in the way is how annoying it is when you are in a rush for something and you need to park but at that one moment in time there are no car parks. Does this happen to everyone else or is it just my incredibly bad luck? Granted, I am generally not the person driving and if I am I tend to stay away from busy car parks (I do not want to make the other drivers self-conscious once they see my driving skills #seatbeltssavelives) but it does happen to me a lot. Talking about hashtags, I am so behind on some of the internet trends. For ages everyone on Facebook was changing their profile pictures to giraffes. It was not until I read a news article about it that I understood that people who did this had answered incorrectly to a riddle that was circulating. Even recently there is another craze going around where everyone posts little cartoon scenes of themselves (generally with others) with a 'funny' caption underneath. It was not until I found a Facebook page full of them that I found out they were called "Bit-Strips" or something along those lines. I am so far behind on some of the internet trends it is not funny. Seriously, you guys reading this may be amused but it is not a laughing matter. Come to think of it, my mind is in a really random mood at the moment and most of what I am saying is probably sending you all on random tangents that never really had any connection in the first place. I better stop before we get to the "bad metaphor" stage.

Now do you see why I need this weekly post so badly? See you tomorrow!

A Late Post But is it Short?

So, the big question on everybody's minds tonight is whether this late post will be long or short. That is for you to decide at the end of this post. I will try to make it as long as possible but since I am writing this on my phone it takes a whole lot longer to type just a few words, let alone a few sentences. Basically, my life write now is just trying to make this post as long as possible even though it is on my phone. As it is on my phone it will not include pictures because the stupid Blogger App does not let you format the picture so it comes up very large right at the end. It is very annoying. Blogger, you should totally get on to fixing that bug. Anyway, so tonight's reason for a late post was actually because of one of my commitments for the Wyndham "Leaders of the Future" program. The commitment in question is attending the Wynbay Blue Light disco. The Blue Light disco is a disco run by Victoria Police and aimed at primary school students. Basically, I felt really tall for once. It was a nice feeling. My role was to basically supervise them and make sure that if they did anything dangerous or bad that I would stop it. I did have to stop a lot of things going on as a lot of the kids were drinking sugary drinks. As you should know, sugar and children do not mix well. The good thing was though that when I was reprimanding them I could do in a way that would not scare them or make them feel bad. It was more of a "Please Stop That" situation and because I was so tall (compared to them) they would listen. All in all, it was a great night and I can not wait to do it again.

Getting involved in the Community can lead to meeting so many new people. See you tomorrow!

Do Not Test My Patience

Do you want to know the worst time to test my patience? Even if you did not, you are going to. The answer is right now. I have had to put up with so much crap tonight that I am just over it. Plus I am tired. You definitely do not want to test my patience when I am tired. You would not like me when I am tired. So the moral of this late-night post: don't mess with me right now.

Have a great day, see you tomorrow!

Random Thought Friday: Saturday Edition

So another week has passed and another Random Thought Friday has been missed due to reasons out of my control. Namely, losing track of time and basic forgetfulness. To make up for the lack of these posts I have decided to write one today, on a Saturday, to make up for all those we have missed. This is only the second Random Thought Friday post so enjoy and I hope to have another one up next Friday. However, I do not want to make any promises as sometimes circumstances escape my control. Hope you have a random weekend!

Thursday night was a pretty important night for my Leaders of the Future Program. As those of you who read last night's incredibly short post would know, Thursday night was the official launch of the program. It was a really great time as it did not go for too long (so we were not stuck listening to repetitive boring speeches) and the speeches they did have were all very interesting. We had our local member who took over Julia Gillard's area (the term escapes me) as well as a person high up in the Wyndham Police Force (Super-Intendant I think). We also heard from a past participant from a similar program over the other side of Melbourne and how the program changed him. It was a great night and I really enjoyed it. Talking about this program we finally started our group training sessions on Sunday with a hike up in the You Yangs. It was only ten kilometres but towards the end it got very steep. Still, I wish Kokoda was going to be like that. The You Yangs are going to be a stroll in the park compared to Kokoda. Still though, it is great to have a place like the You Yangs where we can go hiking and it is not too far away for us. Wednesday night we went Fartlek running which is where you run for a while, then walk, then run, then walk and so on. Ours went a little bit more along the lines of Run, Jog, Run, Jog, Run, Walk, Run, Jog, Walk, Run and so on so it was a little more challenging but it was a great time to continue cementing strong friendships with the others in this program. I said today would be a random thought post and, in a way it is, except for the fact that the central focus is on the Kokoda program. Still though, it was a lot of random thoughts on the topic that I never would have been able to stretch over a whole post.

I hope you guys see another Random Thought Friday this Friday. See you tomorrow!

Another Late Night

I feel like this is happening too much to be normal. I feel that I am saying that too much to be normal. Anyway, have you ever being really bored and then, all of a sudden got an old song you had not listened to on years stuck in your head? For me, it happens once or twice a week. Last week I got back into Never Let Me Go by Florence and the Machine and this week it is Be Prepared from the Lion King. It gets worse when you can only remember one line and so that is all you are humming. It gets annoying.

I am sorry for all these late posts, they are written on my phone by the way which is why they are so short and devoid of images. See you tomorrow!

Daily Lukey: The Journey to 200 (Part 6)

So we have finally reached the end of this series which has been stretched out for longer than previously intended. We began September with a continuation of the Political Parties series followed by another late night post that was, and I quote, "Super Short and Super Sweet". The next day was the final post on the political parties of Australia which was followed by a post on getting distracted which, ironically, was distracting me from my homework. I then wrote another late night post with my reflection on our schools House Chorales competition. I then reminisced about what things used to be like before writing a list of characters who deserved their own show. Oh, the posts you can get away with when it is your own blog. I then wrote a post on Nature for some unknown reason before writing about how much of a sticky beak my family really is. I then wrote another post on fundraising before lamenting on how hard it is to effectively exercise with Sandy. I then complained about a disease I coined the "Song in Head" Disease. I then wrote a post on being gullible before reflecting on my Year 10 Formal. I then reflected on the Donations in Kind activity the Wyndham "Leaders of The Future" did with the Werribee Rotary. I then rejoiced as a fabled curse had been lifted which regarded Game Design and a runny noise.

I then went through some of my favourite songs in my playlist before discussing some awkward moments I often experience with others. I then went through my most popular tags (in terms of posts) before celebrating the start of the Holidays. The next day was a little more negative as I lamented that I was sick which was followed by another short post on weird advertisements. I then offered an explanation as to my recent spate of short posts before writing a post on judging things before you experience them. I then made the mistake of writing a post telling people to stop making so many Puns. I say mistake as for the rest of the holidays I was treated to a daily pun texted to me each day by one of my 'friends'. I then analysed the different types of tourists in Melbourne before realising my reliance on technology. I then went through the posts that appeared in my Facebook News Feed before marveling at some great discoveries. I finished the month of September with another short post written on my phone late at night. October began with a post on problems and the sheer amount of problems that we have. I then complained about disappointing sequels after watching Grown Ups 2 before displaying some random facts about me. I then started my new weekly segment titled "Random Thought Friday". Although that is so far the only post in this series because of my 200 posts celebration that I had. Be ready for another Random Thought Friday this Friday though. I then explained how I would always lose good ideas immediately after having them before giving my review of the movie Gravity. I then wrote a post on my first day back at school and how I wished every day were as relaxing as that one before writing a post on first impressions. From here I wrote a post on new addictions and their sources. I then complained about some annoying junk emails before reaching (and celebrating) my 200th Post. That was my journey to 200 posts!

Thank you all so much for your support. See you tomorrow!

The Journey to 200 LATE Posts

You may not realise this but the late post has become an integral part of this blog. It has become such a weekly thing that it is more shocking when a long post comes out on one of these days. Anyway, I am very tired and very grumpy and this stupid phone keyboard is making me want to throw my phone across the room and then smash it into a million pieces which I will then burn and scatter at different locations out at sea. Oh,I am very tired so do not mess with me.

Thus ends another short post. See you tomorrow!

Just When You Thought it Was Over

Just when you thought you were free from the short late posts I proved you wrong. I know tonight was supposed to be Part 5 of my 200 posts 'celebration' but I got home too late and pretty much had to go to sleep straight away. By sleep I mean bed as obviously I am not sleep-typing this. That would be a great skill to have though and would save me time on nights like these. Anyway, is it not just so annoying when you are really tired but your body does not let you go to sleep? It just annoys me so much because by the time I finally fall asleep I am awoken a short while later by my brother (I share a room) who goes on his phone until late that night or early the next morning so then the light keeps me from falling asleep. It does make me really angry at times.

Anyway best get to sleep before this post makes even less sense, see you tomorrow!

Another Late Night Another Short Post

So it is that time again. Yes, for no discernable reason other than my own, another late post has come to pass. It seems that I am starting posts like this all too often. For this I am sorry but everyone has busy days and today was one of mine. There are many reasons why posts come out late. The main reason being CFA with training going until late. Homework is another big issue which is unfortunate but unavoidable. If it piles up then it still has to be done. Other reasons included illness, parties and unforeseen events such as procrastination.

I really am very sorry for these late posts, see you tomorrow!

An Explanation

So you may have realised that the holidays have started and you may also have realised (if you visited this blog since Saturday night that short and not-so-sweet posts have appeared. For this I am very sorry and feel that you deserve an explanation. Sure, it works out for me as well as it counts for today's post but all in all this post is for you guys as you deserve, no... need an answer! Well, actually you do not but anyways, it's late and I do not want to bore you all more than you already are. Sorry guys for the remainder (and introduction) of this post.

So I guess our story begins one stormy night in 1997 when a new (and exceptionally bright) light was brought into the world. He would grow up and haunt people's daydreams and change the future forever. He would write a blog which would one day become known as a suppository for all that is procrastination. That boy was me and this is my story. T'was the night before last and all through the house not a creature was silent not even the incredibly sooky dog making up nearly 13% of this blog. It was an eventful night with many a fright throughout the night. It was the next day that I woke up and knew something was wrong for my phone was still sleeping at eight in the morning. My throat was a bugger all day and by night all that was left in life appeared to be sleep. Yet as the dark closed in around our protagonist (I really need to stop changing perspectives mid paragraph) a sudden thought struck him and this thought was of the amazing (and very modest) blog, the Daily Lukey. The next day was very much the same slog with a lot of scooping, moving and shoveling of bark and still, after many soluble tablets, the throat was still an issue. It was late at night and Luke was about to finally asleep after countless minutes (I get lost after two) of tossing and turning when the same thought struck him. His blog left emptied and he thought of making up a story about poor scheduling but felt that a short and sweet post would last better. Thus ends the teary tale of the man without a tail and his incredibly sad dog with one (seriously though, for such an upbeat dog he does sook a lot).

Much sorrow was felt that day and the magical land of Home would never be the same again, see you tomorrow!

Gullible

So hooray guys, today I was organised! I wrote two posts at once which was yesterday's and today's. I wrote them both last night because I knew that I would not be able to write another one tonight. Why is that you may ask. Well, tonight is my Year 10 Formal which is going to be so great, I can not wait (although when this post comes out it will probably be about to start or something). So in between making posters for my fundraiser, scrolling through my Facebook news feed and watching YouTube videos I decided to write those two posts. I am pretty proud of myself as this means I do not have to worry about hurriedly typing one on the way home on the iPad because they all turn out pretty bad as it takes a lot longer to type. So we all know someone who does not think twice about what they are being told and takes everything as fact (seriously, did you see that change in subject?). This is their story (*cue "dun dun" Law & Order sound*).

Sometimes this can be great as they do not question you even when you are obviously wrong or missing something important. It is also great as it leads to a lot of funny (and sometimes mean) gags at their expense. I mean, how many times have you fallen for "Gullible is written on the ceiling"? For some this occurs too often and it has become a problem. It can also be a problem as you have to be extra careful with what you say around them because they are not going to know if you are joking or not. Sometimes even sarcasm is lost on these people. It happens to the best of us and we are just left there looking like idiots. However, sometimes you need to draw a fine line between gullible and argumentative. There just comes a point when you are so not gullible that you question and argue with everything someone says to you. This is often the most annoying trait someone can have as you can not possibly have a normal conversation with them.

Being gullible is often not a very fun thing (ignore my horrible sentence structure please), see you tomorrow!
